Basically it was better when more of them were getting under (and over mixed at times) the counter payments from AIL clubs and keeping the levels of AIL up was the way to go. The IRFU and provinces got way too much power.

How would you calculate the minimum wage for athletes I wonder? If based on Time spent training etc then the vast majority of irish athletes and boxers would be well below min wage Iâd imagine[/quote]
have these lads got other jobs?
Students by and large Iâd imagine. Most non academy still hanging around might be on 25-40 k. Enough to live on
There are other benefits too. Those Leinster students would probably be dropping 10k a year on Canterbury tracksuit bottoms. Now theyâre getting freebies.
Unbelievably shit atmosphere at Twickenham. Maybe a third full. Voices echoing everywhere. Thes H Cup semi finals really only need a ground with a 30k capacity.
One would think that Leinster were after winning a prestigous semi final such is the hubris generated by the rugby correspondents.
Theyâve won the semi final of what equates to the OâByrne Cup or FBD League.

Did you see how Leitrim celebrated the FBD league win?
Like it was 1999
This has been an appalling game. Rugby is a hideously sterile sport.
This weekend has proven one thing, Jonny and ROG must be the Test squad out halves for the Lions.
Agreed, its Sextoâs time
Thereâs only one Jonny, and its not Jonathan.

A worthy successor to Noel Murphy, Pat Whelan, Donal Lenihan and Brian OâBrien.
Who will the new head coach be, I wonder?

All Change Please? Doesnât sound like him.
