I tell you what. Gavin pontificating from the couch like heā€™s never made a mistake in his life, and heā€™s the ultimate arbiter sticks in my craw. Thereā€™s something unedifying about it.

Agreed, but if you go back and watch the second half v Waterford, Wexford or Cork last year we were consistently messing up routine hand and stick passes at the back and coughing up a lot of chances through somewhat unforced errors. Itā€™s not perfect but you can see the improvement

You had a great view for all the Limerick fouls

A very enjoyable day in Cusack Park yesterday. A feral atmosphere.

The home-and-away agreements are a major success story of the round robin. Arguably yesterday was meaningless, but the match & crowd didnā€™t reflect that. Itā€™s been disappointing that there have been so many mismatches but yesterday, the intensity was unreal. Great craic altogether.

Iā€™d be pretty satisfied with the performance, we worked very hard. Forwards definitely didnā€™t go as well as youā€™d need to go to win an All-Ireland but were probably just down one too many, especially with Flanagan off form. Clare, similarly, put us under pressure but would probably be disappointed with the attacking contributions of their own forwards, bar TK.

Backs for both sides on top, work rate good all over the pitch. Great atmosphere. Go again in a Munster Final.

A tremendous day out yesterday. Some atmosphere in the shed. Heaving with nervous, angry locals and visitors.

The draw will do enough for both sides in the story of this championship, for different reasons.

Rory Hayes is on an accelerated path to the top of the game. Granted, Flanagan beat him to many balls yesterday which youā€™d expect from a forward but he either ploughed the hole off him and spoiled the chance or forced him out and away from goal.

Mike Casey is back where he belongs, Duggan was a massive threat yesterday but he was suitably coerced. A great oul battle.

Kyle will have to move back. No more about it.

Limerick will be ā€˜contentā€™ with the draw given the personnel, the fact they were down to 14 and will feel aggrieved at a few decisions. Perfect for the next few weeks out in Rathekeale.

Clare have turned a corner. Lohan has done a remarkable job. Organised, fit and aggressive. Obviously would be badly exposed on the board without Kelly but making great use out of his ability.

The simulation was of course disgusting. No more about it.

Munster final in Thurlas will be an entirely different affair, a great prospect to look forward to.

Interesting to see how Clare approach next weekend given Limerick have an extra week.

You tend to see a lot more when you actually go to the games

Anyone know what the Limerick fan was escorted out of the town end of the shed for yesterday? Happened with about 10 to go. They fairly man handled him out the gap and he seemed a big/round enough unit

There was some bit of a row broken up

Theres a great view of Limerick fouls from anywhere really.

Did the two cousins end up marking each other at any stage? @Mac is usually on the ball for those moments

Cork to Ennis for a challenge match is a bit much. Iā€™ll keep my passes for bigger daysā€¦

Watched the game back this morning and watched the Sunday Game. Have read through a fair bit of the coverage today. A grand oul morning for myself.

My initial reaction when at the game yesterday has been confirmed, and all the pundits agree too; GearĆ³id Hegarty is being targeted, he is the subject of a media driven agenda and the officials are responding in kind. Colm Lyons went out of his way yesterday to find a reason to put him off. It was a disgraceful refereeing performance. John Kiely correctly pointed it out afterwards too. When you add in the shit our medical team had to put up with yesterday also, it is fascinating to see how easy it is to influence weak officials. Weak Match Officials are being influenced on a weekly basis by pundits on the TV and in the papers.

And yetā€¦ And yetā€¦down Cian Lynch, Aaron Gillane, Cathal Oā€™Neill, Peter Caseyā€¦rested Darragh Oā€™Donovan, rested Graeme Mul, a Flanagan who was so rusty he couldnā€™t pick the ball, lost GearĆ³id to an awful blaggaurding and yetā€¦they couldnā€™t put us away in a game that meant nothing to us. The spirit is very very good.

Weā€™ll stream roll into Thurles in 3 weeks and lay waste to them when it matters.

Has venue been confirmed?

Ah go on so, Iā€™ll do it.

It has to be Thurles really. Nowhere else an option

The marathon costing PUC a big day.

I disagree. You get small bits here and there on refs from pundits but the column on refereeing is a different take and a good addition. His perspective is different to former player or manager pundits and thatā€™s good too. Heā€™s good on the rules and on whatā€™s going through a refs head and on where they should do better and heā€™s quite impartial.
