The ironic thing is Saracens are one of the best clubs for bringing players through from their academy and looking after the health of their main stars. They are also the only English side who were able to compete with the big spending French and Irish. If they stick with the salary cap the English clubs would be better pulling out of European competition entirely and just adding 2 new clubs to the premiership.

Iâm well aware itâs the premiership salary cap they have broken, but if English clubs are going to put restrictions on themselves that the French and Irish donât have then they may as well pull out of Europe as they clearly wonât be able to compete. The crowds English clubs get at european games are way smaller that what they get in domestic games, they should just add 2 teams to the premiership and forget about europe.
