I’d agree with that. We’ll learn no more about kleyn we know what he adds. Ahern is a good prospect but the only way to see is up to the grade is throw him in. He’s performed well for Shannon and the few times with munster to say he’s good enough for those levels. We need to push the young lads to the top level and see if they can meet the challenge

For him, his pack is very important; his tight five. So, he brought in RG Snyman, he brought in [Jason] Jenkins — both of them out. So, there’s two big South African guys that he thought were going to give him that power game — especially the way he wants to play — not there. So, he’s not getting that go-forward from that tight five that he was thinking he would get. So, very difficult at the moment.
Just shows VG unable to develop a game plan to suit the players he has. Basically wholly relying on signing players that are bigger than the other team. A spoofer. Munster are lucky he’s on the way out. But Munster actually wanted to keep him so they have plenty problems there still.

Any coach worth their salt can adjust their game plan based on the players at their disposal. Tbf there is no arguement about the talent available, especially compared to a few years ago
Penney was brought in originally with a mandate to change the playing philosophy and got booted. The idea was right and they should have stuck with it, with Penney or someone else

Penny tried to play 2-4-2 which lead to the 16th man bitxh and moan (whats Paulie doing on the wing and that’s not the munster way). They qon fuck all since. Connacht under Lam won the pro 14 with massive plaudits for the style of play, which was 2-4-2. The game evolved and penny was punished for trying to drag munster into it
