I saw some mention in my brief scanning online that made reference to the defense claiming there may have been a racial targeting of Randle by the alleged victim but to me that sounds very far-fetched.
The more you look at it this is such a bad look for munster. They had the opportunity to promote from within a couple of times. Theyāve passed over their former player who has done a good job as coach and is clearly highly regarded for the shiny foreign signing. It smacks the usual Munster delusion that a big signing will solve all their problems. Meanwhile their brand is increasingly diluted because they have so few homegrown players or coaches. And whatever they see as their culture the same. Iām sure fans would have been more energized by prendergast and maybe heād have been able to bring back one or two former players as coaches. It might bring in a few of the farmer/haulier protest types I suppose.
Sure even when Van Graan was leaving they dragged their heels for ages before eventually giving Rowntree the job. It didnāt look like they were too keen on promoting him but probably couldnāt get anyone else at the time.
I suppose he did alright in winning the league but it was exactly much of a vote of confidence in the guy before he got the job.
Yeah they really did. Back then before Rowntree got the job ROG said in the examiner they should give it to Prendergast. So he was passed over for it then and maybe fair enough at the time but passing him over for it the second time is a bad look.
