Not a fair comparison. More than 10-12k would have wanted to attend the match had it been in Walsh Park - demand for tickets would have exceeded supply and people would have complained about being locked out.
Far more sensible to play it 80 miles away in a less than quarter-full stadium and avoid having people being locked out by having them just not bother turning up.
A much better spectacle.
