This format would be excellent if there was a game every fortnight. Cork & Tipp got the short straws.
If Waterford start well tomorrow then they could catch Tipp for legs in the second half.

Careless from Cork with numerical advantage for over half the game not to bag the two points that would have secured advancement. If Cork lose their last game now away to their bogey side Waterford they could be out.

A lot of this three week stuff can be mental too. Everyone is talking about it so it could become ingrained in players.
As a spectacle, that match was everything you could have hoped for when you imagined the new format. A new stadium that looked close to full, a sunny evening, a thrilling shootout with two teams that are on the cusp of something big.
Youth development is great, but matches like that on a regular basis will make kids want to play the game more than any development programme ever could.
