I didn’t actually. I must watch that back.
There is and always has been only one acceptable song that should be played post game in Inter County GAA.
We used to be a proper country.

That was shocking fucking dirge.
If you never cried to Rita Connolly coming out of Croke Park, you never lived.
Brian comes across as a complete cunt. I can’t believe the Examiner commission this shite every week
Fortunate not to pick up a heavy sanction for something that didn’t happen.
Its utter shite.
Ploughing is for the Fields & Bedrooms only.
This has been cut out of the version posted to the RTE Player, along with the Tom Morrissey interview
Fucking hell, thats influence…
I hear that Dowling may be cast adrift at seasons end.
The song that is to Dublin Football’s Chaos Years what “I’ve Got A Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas is to Ireland’s World Cup hopes.
What year did they stop playing it and brought in generic The Script stuff to replace it?
I’d say that was SOD’s best ever performance against Limerick, in fairness to him.
I wouldn’t be the biggest fan of the way he plays (and look, it obviously works for him, he’d be an idiot not to make the most of it) but he stood up yesterday to win a lot of dirty ball when other big Clare players misfired.
He’ll have earned his corn by then. Someone clipped it onto youtube. Crazy stuff.
I think he realised when it was too late that he’d made a solid show of himself.
This is a hard one to answer. I associate that piece of music entirely with defeat. Then Dublin stopped losing. It’s possible it continued being played into the era when Dublin stopped losing, but if so, I wouldn’t remember it.
I’d guess 2010 was the last year of it. I could be well off in that guess.
He was fairly fucking ignorant or just arrogant to the setups in other Counties with that outburst.
Other Counties aren’t pulling together, we are.
We have the best setup that money can buy.
Once he was on a yellow, he was fucked. And tbh, he was lucky to last as long as he did without a yellow.
I think Lohan thought Nolan was the only one who could physically engage with Gillane, rightly or wrongly, he did seem like the logical replacement for Cleary even though he didn’t really feature in the league. But once he was on a yellow, he had to make a switch. People saying Morey did alright but, in reality, Morey, while very pacy, is not a natural defender. He contested one ball with Gillane and did alright (even though Gillane won it initially) but the ball didn’t go in after that. So I wouldn’t take it as though Morey would have done better than Nolan, I think he’d have done worse tbh.
But maybe young Hogan could have been switched onto him after Nolan was booked.
I’d have massive respect for him for what he’s achieved, but I think he gets too involved and yesterday was really the pinnacle of that behaviour. You cant be at that.
Darragh is a forthright fella.
I haven’t seen somebody whip up a crowd like that since Bruce Forsyth at the 1974 FA Cup final.
I have felt for a long time that Liam Gordon lacks the temperament for big games and this proved to be the case again yesterday. He must have a sponsor on the appointments committee as he has consistently misapplied rules, missed blatant incidents and has little control at the business end of games.
The debacle at the end was entirely of his own making. He called for 4 minutes added time. There were no delays or substitutions made in that period and Will O’Donoghue’s wide ball should have been the end of the game. He stood with his arms outstretched in the middle of the field. What did he think the 43k people in that cauldron were going to think?
He should have then blown time on the retaken puckout but allowed a situation develop where he chose to ignore two fouls that could have levelled the game. Earlier he had missed a triple catch by Diarmaid Byrnes that led to a score, gave a bizarre yellow card to Mike Casey, allowed a 9 second advantage to Clare which he subsequently brought back for a free and didn’t throw in the ball after booking Gearoid Hegarty, again resulting in a score.
He is a poor, poor referee and isn’t able for games of this magnitude. I don’t blame him so much as I blame the apes who are appointing him.
