His goose is cooked. It would make you have sympathy for Kelly.
Obviously giving up soft goals is an absolute disaster and Foudy had a nightmare.
But Rodgers had dragged ye back into the game before half-time and I thought tactically ye were quite poor in the second half.
Like, why did they not deliver some low ball in front of Rodgers in the second half? I would say he got pretty much no decent deliveries. He’s a serious goal threat, I couldn’t understand that. And then take him off?
Why not put TK in the full-forward line and, same thing, deliver low ball in front? At least that puts him in a direct contest with his man marker (who was on a yellow card from the first half).
How did they leave Conor Cleary on Jake Morris when surely Jason Forde was the man for him?
Taking off Ryan Taylor who was Clare’s best player by a country mile was absolute madness. Serious performance from him.
Conlon had a nightmare imo. Couldn’t get to grips with Gearoid O’Connor in contests in the first half and his touch was way off.
Peter Duggan’s hurling looked way too slow today, same with SOD… SOD does some great things to win the ball but has pretty much no striking whatsoever. Easy enough to bottle up if you don’t foul him. Fitzgerald will be a big boost next week obviously but I just thought ye didn’t play to yere strengths today, even aside from the bad goals given away.
Tommy is a great man.
‘If other teams got the same attention Limerick do then you’d ser plenty of incidents’
Which Waterford player feigned a hit to the head from Nash, was it Gleeson?
Bennett i think? I thought the neck brace was coming out at one stage, thankfully he made a miraculous recovery and took the free.
A poor man’s Declan hannon.could lay claim to the most over hyped hurler to ever pick up a hurley.
That’s so harsh. De Búrca is superb.
No he is not.mcgrath over hyped him wen he was managing them.he gets cleaned more often than not.
Could have been Fagan actually… Red Helmet
Just dropping in to dry up all the tears from earlier on guys.
Waterfords half backline were excellent I thought overall. Negated Hegarty and Lynch for the most part. Tom Morrissey probably won his battle but it was keenly contested.
Just watching the incident there… The keeper was two yards off his line for the peno
Fagan feigned a hit to the head , Hego with the mistimed shoulder and Davy Fitz jumping up and down in the refs face with two arms outstretched to the heavens
Hurling has become a self parody. Up to recently no matter how hard the hit you would get up If you could breathe. Now you stay down at a hint of contact.
I like Tommy but if you’ve seen him hurl once I think its fairly obvious he has no issues with dirt
Is there a rule that keepers have to stay on the line for penalties in hurling?
He is an awful man to roar in a players face when on the ground, a cretin of an individual. Hence the reason Reidy turned on him at the end of the game.
He had the helmet off before he hit the ground sure.
In fairness Tipp had Ronan Maher stationed pretty deep second half, the space wasn’t there to drop ball in front of Rodgers. They did try and play the channels where the space was for the inside line at times but playing 10 minutes with 14 men and expending a lot of energy first half reeling in the 6 point and 10 point deficits sapped a lot of energy and led to some poor decisions.
Taylor was clearly carrying a leg/limping when subbed off. He shipped three very big hits/fouls in the match when carrying ball.
Clare let Tipp have it far too easy in terms of set up and structure and they always seemed to have the whip hand - despite that Clare still kept coming at them and three times pulled big leads back. Clare hit 3-23 and there were a number of chances that they could have turned into goals with a bit more ruthlessness/sharpness. Clare should have hit closer to 3-30 yesterday but for three missed frees and some very poor wides at times.
Tipp will be happy with the win and performance but a lot went their way but their backs still look pretty porous - will be interesting to see do they kick in now with a bit of momentum behind them.
Fair play to ye. Now the question is, are ye good or are Clare bad. We will find out next weekend. Still think Tipp are shit tbh
We know already. They’re tramps. The End.
Im pretty sure there is…
