I think he should have prevented the second goal too. Very saveable.

O’ Dalaigh didn’t strike it that well but in fairness those shots that bounce on the surface are very tricky to save for a keeper.

It was a bit harsh but equally, you don’t ask the question.

Jesus the 3 goals were in about 4 minutes. Fuck sake Clare :expressionless:

Hard luck bud

We go again.

Limerick reeled off 3-4 to 1 point between the 54th and 65th minutes

Unreal

Hego must have been coming back on from dipping out to the jacks for that last goal to get into that kind of space.

Ó Dálaigh did his absolute best to butcher the chance for his goal and still managed to find the net.

Butchered one before that as well.

I’d say the shot was so bad for the goal Qulligan couldn’t compute

I thought it was a solid 7.5 out of ten performance from us for the guts of an hour. After a lively opening ten by limerick we took over and were on top til half time and looked comfort enough in the third quarter, Limerick after half time changed tact and tried to play a shorter game which didn’t really work as their short passing kept breaking down and we did a decent job clogging them up and turning balll over.

Limerick got a big lift off their bench, but given how poor WOD, Morrissey and Flanagan were on the day it wasn’t much of a surprise, Boylan carried the ball and English was winning breaks, while O’Daliagh looked a bit nervy he got a decisive if some what fortuitous 1-1. Three goals were all avoidable but Limerick are always going to go for the jugular if you give them oxygen.

David Fitz getting involved in silly stuff after conceding a lazy free which saw it move up 13 metres and end up in the Clare net set the tone for the last 15 minutes or so - completely unnecessary. While Limerick’s subs gave them fresh legs and impetus ours had the opposite - kelly at centre forward was a bad move, he should have went in on Finn with SOD coming out, Morey anonymous in the last quarter, Flanagan for Hayes weakened us too, Hayes was competing well for breaks and putting in hits while it just passed Flanagan by, we needed Meehan to come in and show for the second ball and run at limerick but instead he was trying to contest ball in the air. Limerick’s backs squeezed the life out of our forwards in the final quarter which was reminiscent of last years Munster final.

Looked nervy. But hitting wan-wan in the heat of battle will bring him on.

He has a habit of letting in softish goals - Flanagan’s goal at the death of the round robin match last year and Pat Horgan’s last year were similar efforts at his feet which he let in. Then he can make some saves he has no right to make.

Today wasn’t a good day for him.

Duggan got involved with hannon after a superb catch, was lucky it wasn’t a free to Limerick or a throw ball.

We were watching him in the warm up. He let in a few very similar to O’Dailaigh goal.

Catching up here with TSG (Sunday Game not our forumite) on the Waterford - Cork game. Didn’t see any of the game earlier but it’s always nice seeing Jamie Barron in his pomp (when not against Tipp ). A classy hurler.

Very nervy but caused way more bother than Sham Flanagan in 15 mins than Sham did all day.

Sham starts every year slow though

Main worry for limerick might be full back line injuries

Has to be said - David Reidy was excellent today. An overlooked player in the system.
