Munster Senior Hurling Championship 2025

Its still possible for Clare, Cork and Tipp to all finish on 3 points too and Clare could potentially edge them on score difference, but the chances of that happening are so remote theres no point in even discussing it

Yes correct, realized that just after I posted.

Go way you absolute fanny

Lost all 3 AI finals against Armagh & Tyrone that’s all that matters. 2011 was probably the greatest Kerry choke of all mind.

Dublin, Armagh, Tyrone. Those were great Kerry teams but they lost when it was ultimately put to them.

at least the Kerry teams lost them finals playing against teams that had 15 men for the hour and and bounced back to win an all ireland very shortly afterwards, the 1994 and 1996 Limerick men bounced back to win a league title and that was it.

I can sense the annoyance from you simple Kerryman, 4 up with 7 to go and ye choked to your most bitter rivals… that will forever haunt ye.

Twas ā€œunlimited heartbreakā€ for us really to be honest akin to losing hurling finals to Galway,Offaly and Wexford.

Those Galway & Offaly sides were multiple AI winning ones, you would know that if you had an actual knowledge of the game.

Last 3 years - waterford 2 wins and a draw. Plus the famous 8 day turnaround is against tipp.
Waterford will have no fear and the open spaces of Semple wiil suit jamie Barron, Dessie and Patrick Curran more than Walsh park

Just watching it back here now. We should have had 6-13 scored at half time. Need to be much more clinical.

Clare play a traditional enough brand of hurling which suits Tipp. I liked the way when O’Donnell came on, nobody from Tipp went over to shoulder or dig him. He just commands too much respect.

Waterford’s running game next week will be a totally different proposition. We’ve matched up terribly to them in recent years. Mark Fitzgerald or Barron could do a few side steps which have the potential to absolutely bamboozle our fellas and all of a sudden there could be open country in front of them.

If Waterford are to win next week, they’ll need something out of Dessie. He’s shown very little in a Waterford jersey since about 2021.

hey Mr Fountain of knowledge on hurling

How was the 1980 Galway All Ireland Winning side a multiple All Ireland Winning side? They hadnt won an an Ireland since 1923 before that and by the time Galway won another one in 1988 there was only 2 players from 1980 starting 15 on the 1988 team. Jez was 1980 a choke for Limerick actually?

He’s been very good against Tipp the last two years.

Do you really want to go down the Offaly route? You brought them up

Clare got over the line last year as they had 20 hurlers fit and to the standard required when they got to Croke Park. There is a big fall off in terms of ability after that 20 as it is mainly younger/callow lads filling out the panel mainly due to terrible underage teams of the mid 2010s after the 3 in a row under 21 side. It has come home to roost this year. Just down too many bodies with injury and lads off form and the depth simply isn’t there.

Tipp were full value for the win, should have had a couple more goals and their backs showed the necessary cynicism required, unlike the Clare backs in the first half. Thought they managed the last 10 minutes well when Clare got back level.

Same as the previous two matches Clare were stuck to the ground and devoid of any energy in the opening quarter and left themselves too much to do. Shane Meehan seemed to be the only forward getting out in front but looks just a bit too light despite his honest effort.

Conor Leen looked goosed after 5 minutes, he had been struggling with injury for months now - fair enough they were down so many bodies that they had to take the risk but he should have been pulled long before he was. David Mc also didn’t look like he was moving any way right and got caught losing sight of the ball in the sun multiple times in the first half.

Stirring fight in the second half but still lots of sloppy/tired hurling. They look like a group who need a break and a reset.

No problem , they were a fine team in hurling and football for periods in the 1980s and 1990s and deserved every all ireland that they won in both codes They had a penchant for winning them with late scores too in both codes, sign of a great team(s)

Kerry played them 3 times in the 1980s , won 2 all ireland semi finals and lost the 1982 final which has already been thrashed out here , that Offaly football team was a fine team

I am not sure there is much more to be said about Offaly??

Nah it’s ok Buff ive had my fun.

1996 for Tipp was the worst one :sob:

Will lohan stay? Players have been dripping into the team slowly so it’s not a rebuild job at all. Stay or leave he’s done his county some service. I was disparaging in the past about his tactical fails on a few occasions but he seemed to learn and to improve the team every year until they got over the line.
