Just as a matter of interest, whatâs all this about? It kind of came out of nowhere
Eamon OâShea was doing coaching sessions with the fowards in the build up to the 2016 final, and was doing individual sessions with Callanan as well.
@dodgy_keeper made a very unbecoming attack on Eamon OâShea and Tipperary hurling in general.
Awful whiff of new money, no class about some of the Limerick posters on here lately.
There was no attack, Iâm merely pointing out that for someone with such an elevated position within the coaching world as some sort of tactical guru his record - while ok - ainât actually all that.
Heâs no Paul Kinnerk, thatâs for sure. Three years in a row now (two Munster finals, one Munster semi final) Limerick have whipped an Eamon OâShea coached team in the heat of championship.
He did a fine job against a decimated Kilkenny all the way back in 2010 alright. Credit it to him for that.
Were many of the panel part of the Monday Club? Would that have been in the week leading up to championship matches? Monday clubs drinking with auld lads donât sound like worth sacrificing All-Irelandâs for, unless it was a wild Monday after a bank holiday or Tipp Town is a serious party destination.
He seemed to really free up Callanan and Corbett which is his biggest legacy really. Callanan said in the paper on Saturday that he wouldnât have had half the career without him. Tipp 14â played great hurling, were unlucky not to win an All Ireland but then he had brilliant players to work with.
Isnât Tommy Dunne involved there too? Heâs another great operator.
Too many chefs?
I think so judging by the conditioning of some of them.
If weâre retrospectively awarding All Irelands on the basis of unfulfilled potential Limerick will claim the two soft All Irelands won by Cork in 04/05.
Great to see Limerickâs legacy is no longer that of a drinking team with a hurling problem.
So any coach or team that canât beat a money (at least) doped team, then they are shit? No county outside of Dublin have the same budget Limerick have, even at that Limerick possibly have more
They were just bad for drinking, fighting and causing mayhem wherever they went (usually Thurles) in the week after games and werenât focused on the big picture. Celebrating for days after a Munster First round win was a bit of a joke.
Larâs pub used be like a jungle back in those days before it all came to a head after the Limerick defeat in 2014 when the Tipp public threw them under the bus and they had little option but to cop on. Thankfully for the most part they all matured massively.
Tipp Town is indeed a great spot for a night out by the way.
Change of tactics in training for the next two weeks in the Tipp camp. Sheedy wants them to walk the dogs every night instead. That way they might learn how to hold on to a lead
Add the two ye won in the mid 90s as well to thay and Limerick hurking has been on top for nearly 30 years
Woof
Dan is doing some spadework these past few days. Corks underage revolution has emboldened him. Heâs looking forward to 2-3 years into the future when he can watch Cork grind Limerick into dusht.
On top of what is the question
The two ye got in 04/05 read Biffs post there
The tipp team of the last decade was a memorable team but they underachieved and Iâm sure it must grate and be a regret to them.
The Limerick hurlers are only forward looking.
They care only about the next trophy.
