Itâs a pity the game wonât be played during the day on a sunny day in Limerick or Cork.
A rainy Saturday night in Thurles doesnât really suit either of the teams.
Savage confusion in work today. Chatting to an English lad, he asked had I plans for the weekend. I said weâre having people over for the match. Iâm going all out as itâs me vs 5 or 6 carkies. 2,400 was announced for Limerick match. Presume both county boards will be looking for a few hundred more tickets now.
Surprised to see Dan Morrissey on the bench, but I suppose Limerick wonât need the presence of a towering fullback on Saturday night. I thought Richie English had an average league campaign.

Iâm interested to see Tipp this weekend. I think they are the big unknown. I think their legs are gone tbh. Sheedy is trying to get one more year out of them but it isnât in them I donât think.
That said, if their forward catch fire they could destroy you.

Tipp have struggled first day out more often than not in recent times.
Limerick in 2013 and 2014, Cork in 2017 all beat them as big underdogs first day out in Munster. Limerick again in 2018 and 2020 gave them fair clippings. They went went in 2019 with the Speedy bounce but there was always going to be a reaction. If Clare can harry and harass as well as they did in the first half v Waterford then they have every chance.
Itâs an intriguing game.
