[quote=“Phil Leotardo, post: 826498, member: 197”]A little teaser for Arcade Fire’s new album. Out on October 29th…can’t wait.

Good question

Any new music recommendations, folks?

I’m awfully excited about the release of Chvrches’ debut album next week. I also have quite a thing for Lauren Mayberry. Here’s some information on the band:

What did you make of Jagwar Ma, bro?

Didn’t get around to listening to them, pal.

Leave it with me.

You could die tomorrow in a freak accident and never have gotten around to hearing their Madchester inspired beats.

Music is dead pal, it only exists in the past.

I saw these lads being interviewed last week at some festival and they said their fantasy festival headline act would be Mansun. So forget about new music and go download “Six” by Mansun. It will change your life.

I do like that track, mind you.

I’m getting some blue ghosts and going to see Jugwar Ma when they play here.

Mumford and Sons have announced they’re taking an indefinite break. Boring cunts everywhere will be distraught.

A mate of mine really hates these guys. They are not as bad as Snow Patrol for me.

I do hate them, pal. Thanks for flagging that here.

A poor man’s coldplay

I really quite like Kodaline.

And it feels weird.

While I agree that Floyd did become over produced to a degree, The Wall is still a phenomenal album. Yeah, there’s 3/4 songs I might knock off it but songs like Mother, Hey you, Brick in the wall, Nobody home etc are all cracking songs- but the whole concept and psychology behind the album is fantastic, if a little over done. It’s a shame When the tigers broke free, didn’t make the cut, but he is not only lamenting his own personal loss and the battle to make sense of it but also a whole generations loss and battle to make sense of the world post ww2. Vera captures that perfectly, when he asks does anyone remember… more innocent times- of course this is interrupted by marching drums. As a purist I respect where you are coming from and what rock should be, but it’s still a great piece of work and spectacle.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that Coldplay get a really rough time?

They are nowhere near the worst band out there - in fact that they have had some very good songs in their time.

Their first album was excellent with some great tunes on it but they completely changed their style of music and moved away from the guitar based stuff to what is fairly bland and generic pop rock. The fact that Chris Martin comes across as a smug cunt doesn’t do them any favours either

Agree with Puke there. It very much comes across as “Cold Play”.

Agree 100% on Martin.

Don’t know about that re ‘bland and generic pop rock’ but I don’t have time to argue it.

Either way, they are still better than a lot of the stuff out there at the moment.

We live in a beautiful world. Yeah we do. Yeah we do.
