Was disappointed with Takk myself. Think they tried little bit too heard to appeal to a wider audience (and succeeded I suppose). Love () though. What your thoughts on ()? I think new album will be somewhere between Agaetis Bryjun and ().
() is brilliant. Takk and the one after sounded a little too polished to me. I’ll look forward to a new album anyway. Did you ever listen to Von? It’s a load of bollocks. I think I bought it in 2001, excited as fuck to hear something other than Agaetis Bryjun…
Yeah I did same though it was after () when I got it. Some other superb bands have shit stuff at start also. Suppose takes time for them to develop or whatever.
Gents, anybody here know much about Editors?
I stumbled across them on You Tube recently and I’ve been impressed.
This song here is rather beautiful:
I think some Kid Cudi tunes would do you the world of good. His music is soothing for the mind so go ahead and give it a try Bandage.
Speaking of Nick Cave, he has apprently ended his latest project, Grinderman, who were fairly decent.
I like Fleet Foxes a lot BTW.
Time to infuse a little funk in this thread…
Any of you guys familiar with ‘The National’?
I really like this song. Have they any other good tunes?
Get ‘Boxer’ and ‘Alligator’ Totti.
I’ve been listening to Boxer again recently and I think it’s really excellent. Consistently good throughout.
I wasn’t overly impressed with Alligator however.
Boxer is a real good album.albums before it don’t come close to it imo.high violet is probably my favorite album of theirs though i really wish they had not given Vodafone permission to use their material.bad move imo and taints the music somewhat.
+1
Larry bang on the money yet again and shows why he is the no.1 music guru around here. unlike some pretender from Leitrim.
Any particular tunes that ye would pick out lads?
Don’t really feel like skipping through an album.
You ever listen to Clogs larry? They are a sister band of the National with one of the Dressner brothers in it. Give 5/4 a listen to on YouTube sometime.
Will do farmer thanks.
England and Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks are probably my two favourite tracks on High Violet but it’s a good album from start to finish
Fucking hell.
Maybe it was just that I got a shit quality download or something, but did you feel the production on ‘High Violet’ very bland in comparison to ‘Boxer’? There was something off about it for some reason to me.
My idiot friend Mulcahy and I normally entertain ourselves by telling outright lies to one another. However Mulcahy came out with a good one the other night in a jazz bar in Ghent when he claimed that for Queen to agree to one of their songs to be on a rock compilation album it had to be song one on CD one. I don’t have any rock anthem compilations to hand, if anyone does could they have a look and see if this hypothesis holds any water at all.
