Nancy and Daniel Benoit- Rest in Peace

WWE is sad to report that Chris Benoit and his family have been found dead in their home. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Tonight’s Raw will be a tribute to Chris and his family.

I cant believe it. Sounds like suicide. Its another tragedy in wrestling. Benoit always one of my favs. Never thought something like this would happen in wrestling. Hopefully this Vince crap will be dropped and he comes out tonight and says that I’m alive and that it was a storyline what I did.

Bit of an update. Benoit missed a house show on Saturday night due to a family emergency on and was expected to make Vengenance last night but didnt. A rumour going around is there was a gas leak at the house and he found his wife and son dead and killed himselfI dont know what to think of this. Its such strange circumstances.

Rest in Peace to Chris, his wife Nancy and son Daniel.

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

More information and its what I feared when I first heard about it.

According to lead investigator Lt. Tommy Pope, of the Fayette County Sheriffs Department, in Fayetteville, Ga., the deaths of WWE Superstar Chris Benoit, wife Nancy and son Daniel were the result of a double murder-suicide, WWE.com has learned.

Benoit failed to appear both at Saturdays live event in Beaumont, Tx., and WWEs Vengeance: Night of Champions in Houston Sunday night, after informing WWE of a family emergency. Several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning prompted concerned friends to alert Richard Hering, VP of Government Relations for WWE, Inc. Hering, in turn, spoke with Fayette County sheriffs Monday, and requested that they respond to the Benoit residence to check on him and his family.

Authorities representing the Sheriffs Department initially had a difficult time entering Benoits new Fayetteville home Monday afternoon, which had been guarded by two large German Shepherds roaming freely around the property. Once authorities entered the residence, they quickly located the bodies of Benoit, Nancy and Daniel. WWE was notified of the discovery at approximately 4 p.m.

At 10 p.m. Monday night, Lt. Pope held a press conference in conjunction with Scott Ballard, the district attorney for Fayette County. The press conference officially ruled authorities findings as a double murder-suicide from within the home.

WAGA, a FOX-owned and operated television station in Atlanta, reported that investigators believe Benoit killed his wife and 7-year-old son over the weekend, then himself on Monday.

The three bodies have been received by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations crime lab, in Decatur, Ga., where autopsies will be performed Tuesday morning. Toxicology reports will not become available for at least two weeks.

WWE.com has further information relating to both the investigation and the cause of death, but the Fayette County Sheriffs Department has requested that WWE.com not release any additional details at this time.

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

A total tragedy. Completely shocked when I heard about it. Mr McMahon ditched the storyline and paid tribute to Benoit last night. He was crying on Raw. RIP to Chris, Nancy and Daniel.

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

I just hope that it wasnt murder. Its bad enough wrestlers dying due to drugs but something like this is just terrible. I hope it something else, I really do.

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

This is a seriously fucked up situation. It doesn’t bare thinking about.

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

Where’s the rest of the thread? It was great fun. No malice intended from anyone(except maybe Ball Ox). Myself and Captainshan though it was a great laugh anyway.

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

All deleted Flano - couldn’t be bothered separating the offensive from the inoffensive so deleted the end of the thread.

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

There was nothing offensive at all, I didn’t take offence and neither did Captainshan. But he’ll most likely say the opposite just to make a liar of me.

Back to the subject at hand, Benoit is/was a murderer

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

Saw the press conference on Fox news. Nancy had her hands and feet bound and head was covered in blood and had a towel wrapped around her and was suffocated on friday. Then he suffocated his son Daniel on Saturday morning in his bedroom. A bible was left beside each of their bodies. Chris did himself in before the end of Saturday. Steriods were found at the residence and they wont know if Chris had them in his system for a couple of weeks.

He murdered them. He must have been deranged in the head. All I can say is I feel sorry for his son and daughter who will have to live with this for the rest of their life.

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

There was plenty of offensive stuff there from more than one poster Flano. Not everyone is homophobic.

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

I don’t follow the WWE (my bad I know) but can someone please explain to me - is this a genuine story or is it a true story of the type that usually features in wrestling but that might feature a dramatic recovery and return to the ring.

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

No, it’s serious. Benoit didn’t turn up for 2 shows over the weekend, including a big ppv event on Sunday night. He cited a family emergency in text messages but then began to send strange messages to some WWE official who thought there might be something up and they got in contact with the police in his locality. All the bodies were found then when they entered the premises. Sad, sad story.

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

I actually heard “unofficially” he killed his missus with the crippler crossface

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

Here Captainshan I noticed you have altered the subject line. This story is all about Chris, if it wasnt for him no one would have heard of the missus and son.

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

I felt it my duty as the freekick must distance itself from the man and keep the good image of the forum intact.

Do they share the same life or do they have seperate ones?

Don’t be a leper!

This is how Benoit did the damage

He nearly tore his dwarf of a son in two, his wife managed to reverse the hold but Benoit immediately reversed back and tore her head off

Re:Chris Benoit- Rest in Peace

Seems like someone (Chris?) updated wikipedia with news of the deaths before the police had found the bodies!

http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Death_of_Nancy_Benoit_rumour_posted_on_Wikipedia_14_hours_prior_to_event has learned through an investigation that the death of Nancy Benoit, the wife of former professional World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Canadian wrestler Chris Benoit, was announced 14 hours before her death. Benoit and his family were living just outside Atlanta, Georgia.

Anonymous edits from IP address 69.120.111.23 using the Internet service provider Optimum Online were made at 04:01 (UTC) on Chris Benoit’s Wikipedia article nearly 14 hours prior to her announced death, which state (in italics): “However, Chris Benoit was replaced by John Hennigan also known as Nitro, for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy.” The edit was reversed just under one hour later.

Then just one hour later after the first edit reversion, another anonymous edit by 125.63.148.173 using unwiredAustralia.com.au, a wireless Internet service provider, was made stating (in italics): “However, Chris Benoit was replaced by Nitro for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues which according to several pro wrestling websites is attributed to the passing of Benoit’s wife, Nancy.” That edit was reverted just under 20 minutes later.

Further investigation shows that the IP address used to make the first edit is located in Connecticut, but the IP address is not linked to any computers or servers used by the WWE. The second edit was made by a computer in Australia from a wireless network.

This is not the first time Benoit’s article has been edited to show false or unsourced information, as the article’s edit history indicates a long history of promotional spam and vandalism. For the time being, Benoit’s article has been protected in an attempt to stop the addition of fraudulent information.

Fayette County Sheriff deputy Lt. Tommy Pope stated that police found the family at about 2:30 p.m. (eastern time) on Monday when the WWE called police and asked them to do a “welfare check” after friends stated that Benoit sent them “curious text messages.” It is reported that Benoit missed several meetings which prompted the call to police. Pope also stated that police were “not actively searching for any suspects outside of the house.”

Police say that Benoit strangled his wife on Friday, smothered his son on late Friday or early Saturday, and then hanged himself inside his weight room on Sunday or Monday.
