Strange enough Derry team again, none of the u21s involved as they play Monaghan next Wednesday after beating Down during the week. Emmett Bradley is back for them but no Fergal Doherty in the squad this week. I think Derry can be happy with their league campaign so far, nobody has been as severely depleted as them thus far in the league and they have been quite unlucky in a few games, a very harsh red card for Lynch when they were two points down against Kerry with 20 mins left, threw away a 4 point lead in the dying moments against Tyrone, got rode by Marty Duffy against Donegal and were supposed to have been the better side against Mayo last weekend - all this while being down 7/8 likely starters for next summer’s championship.

There are plenty of ways of staying in the spotlight without attempting a comeback at 35 that has little guarantee of ending up with a good outcome

You can stay in the spotlight and gather up coin with a role with Sky Sports, The Sunday Game and throw in a newspaper column or two. Plenty of lads without Galvin’s success on that circuit

Playing inter county football rules out these roles and playing inter county football rules out a social scene with the discipline that is expected social life wise and the training schedule.

you joking mate? saw a programme last night and some GGA superstar has their fitness tested and the result was damning. for all the bluster it turns out gga players are actually unfit

also mate, working for sky sports who gets viewing figures of 2000 per game doesnt mean anything

Mayo starting brightly here.

Big Dennis Bastick with a goal.

Decent game, championship pace and intensity to this.

Mayo looking very exposed at the back.

Very impressive from Dublin, Mayo very naive at the back and their forwards are struggling to win their battles.

Could be a hammering on the cards if Mayo don’t change things up.

Did McManamon hop that twice or three times in a row?

Another goal for Dublin. McManaman running riot.

This has been a mismatch. Mayo have looked clueless.

Who is the co-commentator here? Complete clown.

Mayo very bad more so than the Dubs being very good. Toothless in the forwards, seems to be no new injection of blood in the last few years. Freeman has been shocking and McLoughlin is another one who is too slow and slight in stature for this. Ronaldson the one new guy is not good enough. They just look like a team who know they can’t beat the top dogs. This team won’t be the one to win an All-Ireland for them. Tootless and ponderous best words for them, management team over them now have clearly brought them backwards too.

Dubs have been ok. O’Sullivan at centre-back is a good move, he’s a very intelligent footballer, good athlete too.

Liam McHale.

Cheers.

Aidan O’Shea gets a nosebleed when he has a clear sight of goal.

Mayo are very undisciplined in their tackling.

when you see the way Irish rugby team play , Chelsea winning the premier league, and the way Kerry won AI it would be great for Sport in general if the swashbuckling dubs to regain the AI

Some comedy finishing from Meath against Laois.

who is the commentator on the other setanta channel for the Laois v Meath game. sounds like Frankie Sheehan!

What a waste Aidan O’Shea is at full forward. He has got many go’s in there but it doesn’t work. He’s a Rolls Royce midfielder, leave him there.
