National Hurling League 2012

 :shakefist:

Great bounce-back win from Tipp there, after an early goal was conceded also. Both clare and Galway have had an edge the last two weeks and both have been seen off.

Only one game matters for this squad and it will happen in September. The rest is only stocking filler.

Whatever he has he should be bottling it and selling it

He could do with selling something alright…

Big Dan is back!

Kenny still in the team, Sweetnam on the bench. Interesting to see Cahalane get a run. Is McDonnell injured? Not on the bench I see. Gardiner at centre-back too. It’s a problem position for us. I presume Cadogan is playing for the footballers on Sunday? Would like to see him tried there. Haven’t been impressed with Gardiner in the two games so far, though his distribution when he had a bit of time on the ball on Sunday was decent.

I’ll be in Cork at the weekend, hoping to head along on Sunday. It’s an attractive double header.

Presume Cadogan will start for the footballers, Counihan can’t be arsed naming his starting team these days, or even the fucking subs.

Limerick Hurling Team Vs Wexford:
1.Nicky Quaid
2. Stephen Walsh
3. Richard McCarthy
4. Tom Condon
5. Wayne McNamara
6. Donal O’Grady
7. Gavin Mahony

9. Paul Browne,
10.Shane Dowling,
11. David Breen,
12. Conor Allis,

14. Niall Moran,
15. Mikey Ryan

Didnt expect Mikey Ryan to be seeing as much gametime as he is.

Watched the highlights of their game with Kilkenny this evening and there are some worrying signs there alright. They reminded me a bit of a late 90s Waterford team, lots of skillful players but largely incapable of making an impact down the middle and competing with the opposition’s central players. Hard to tell from highlights of course but that’s how it looked. Really noticeable lack of presence at 3 and 6 and Richie Power seemed to break away from defenders very easily.

At the other end, Maurice Shanahan had a bit of hustle about him alright and he was one of the few players who looked capable of taking men on and beating them. The rest of the time they seemed to be sniping from the fringes. To be expected of course with a young team, but they’ve a bit to go yet to be a top 5 championship team on the evidence of that showing.

…so Power didn’t walk off the panel, he just had to skip a few training sessions to finish his thesis?

What is this lad like? Is he one of the U-21s?

he was corner forward for the limerick intermediates and under 21s last year reasonable player stocky and mobile average hurler

off to Nowlan park for the game this afternoon. Don’t think we will win though.:frowning:

Went for Antrim +6, Waterford +7 and Dublin +6 today in a treble

Not a good sign to see Galway still relying on Tannion and Cyril Donnellan.

Good game between Cork and Galway. Cork a point up with 15 to go.
