Netflix

Scrooged is my favourite Christmas film.

Does Trading Places qualify as a Christmas film?

King of comedy is so ahead of its time…

Just the fax ma’am, just the fax

Take it to the Christmas movies thread

Gangs of New York would have been a classic had Cameron Diaz or any female lead not been in it. Day Lewis is exceptional in it.
Goodfellas is fantastic, dwindles after Pesci dies and the drug paranoia stuff was weak too but no movie is perfect really.
Casino- Pesci is even better in this but again a female lead ruins it, even though stone gave a great performance.
Taxi Driver- cool on first viewing. Watched it again recently and it’s unmitigated rubbish imo.
Mean Streets- overrated
Raging Bull- good acting but I didn’t enjoy it.

Hard to argue with any of that. I watched GONY recently enough and it’s aged alright, Diaz aside.

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation is the best Christmas movie of all time

Die hard is the best Christmas film ever.

In no particular order.
The towering inferno
Die hard.
Willie Wonka.
Home alone 1 and 2
Trading places.
One or two ore such as the Santa Claus movies that I’d throw an eye on if there was nothing else on

Die Hard is an action movie set at Christmas…

It’s a wonderful life is the greatest Christmas movie ever made and ever will be.
