He seems like good craic in this
That whole interview is available. Barkley is a full on gas cunt
Iāve flip-flopped on it myself ā¦ Youād imagine a black person, particularly from Carolina, and with such world wide appeal and stardom would have used it to highlight some issues. I think winning came first and foremost, money and image second and he had no interest in anything after that ā¦ but is that on him or your average Joe Soap putting their expectations of how he should behave on him?
Whatever about Malone and his underage baby mommas, iād say John Stockton is a gentleman in every sense of the word. Great player too.
Steve Kerr comes out very well too. Knew his limitations and played his role as he knew it was all he could do. I didnt know the backstory about his father being murdered in Beirut.
His father was Brian Kerrās first cousin.
Uncles to Miranda Kerr too?
Jordan was one of the most hard-line owners during the last NBA lockout, he didnāt want to give the players anything. Itās another facet to his unwillingness to help others who had been in his position previously. He wouldnāt help black people in North Carolina get rid of Jesse Helms (or do anything of note on black poverty/police treatment/violence) and wouldnāt help his former colleagues get a faired share of the league revenues, because it would hurt his bottom line.
It belies a serious lack of empathy. Probably what allowed him to rationalise his ceaseless psychological pressure on his teammates.
He comes across as a complete cunt to be fair. Thought the last episode was a bit disappointing but very good series overall. Thought it was weird the way his kids were briefly in it for a couple of comments there having be no mention of his wife or kids at all during the series apart from some footage of one of his sons years ago iirc.
What do we watch now?
Didnāt see anything dislikeable about Jordan at all. How could you not be arrogant being that good.
Itās actually not that difficult. Trust me.
Agreed. He was hard, sometimes very hard, but fair. The man had high standards, some fellas on here wouldnāt understand it
Itās not Jordans responsibility or obligation to be the black saviour or the Colin Kap activist. Ridiculous to expect that and its just one of those twitter type āhot takesā
The man was the most famous athlete on the planet along with being the greatest and most succesful basketball player of all time. Heās shown to be a single minded winner for the ages and youāre there trying to denigrate him as an āuncle tomā because heās not on 60mins talking about race relations
He seems a sort of a Brian Dooher of the basketball world. He has all the traits Jordan had, single-mindedness, relentless, fit, skillfulā¦ 2 great feetā¦
Iām watching Eastbound & down again, Copperās mate added it to the tv shows recently.
Celebrity - SAS Who Dares Wins. The boxer on it - Tony Bellew - is proper mental.
McMafia. Netflix.
The Night Manager. Amazon prime.
The Gentlemen. Guy Ritchie movie.
Itās why heās a level below the real GOAT Muhammad Ali.
In his more than 30 years in the public eye the former Chicago Bulls star seemed to make a point of removing himself from any kind of political cause or social stance that could potentially hurt his brand and earning power.
Where did I say he had to be the champion of social rights and make himself a martyr. His basketball ability gave him a global platform which only a very small of black Americans ever had or will have. He could have used the platform occasionally to draw attention to the struggles of his fellow man to a global audience who would most certainly have listened to what he had to say if he saw a social issue but Mike didnāt do empathy all he cared about was his bank balance.
Youāre wasted on here.
Itās the selfishness that sets them apart. Woods was the same. If they cared about others they may not have been as successful.
