Netflix

Just finished Johnny Manziel doc. Pretty good. A quick 70mins

It appears Netflix have just launched a series about the Opioid crisis and Purdue Pharma that looks identical to Dopesick which is on Disney / Star and has been for 2 years or more. Looks like some of the same actors might even have been used. What’s the point like?!

This is wonderful news altogether. These scumbags have destroyed countless lives.

Great flick. Some waste of talent.

To beat that crimson tide team with that pedigree in Tuscaloosa was something else. He didnt seem to do any nerves as he was in a constant state of fight or flight. He really could have been anything.

Finished it last night, watchable but not a patch on Dopesick.

That was some win. College football is mental over there.

Watched Lansky last night. I’d say during filming Harvey Keitel was thinking “What have I done to deserve this?” having to star with Sam Worthington. The Aussie is a terrible actor

I thought the Johnny Football documentary on Netflix was a wasted opportunity. Way too short and went through things at warp speed. Needs 7 or 8 hours to do his story justice.

I’m reading Empire of Pain at the moment about the Purdue/Oxycontin thing. Some read. Must watch one of these tv programmes too.

Ironic given it’s Netflix and they usually overdo documentaries.

Finished Painkiller. Enjoyable watch, even if a little grim. Crazy story really.

It’s similar enough to Dopesick which came out a couple of years ago.

There’s a few good docos on YouTube at “ground zero” of the opiod crisis in the Appalachians. Just look for Peter Santanello’s stuff.
Also the Soft White Underbelly docos on YT have loads of interviews with people who are on or were on opiods.

The chalk line is a decent film as these things go.

The bill Russell documentary is outstanding.

Finished the last season.

Bit disappointing overall, I felt. Still watchable, a 6/10 overall, just not as good as previous seasons.

The Irish ‘firm’ were comical, Barry Keoghan and his uncle. Plenty of holes in the plot line.

Jaq was the best character in it. Yes, fam. In a minute, yeah.

Totally agree. It was a let down. I was disappointed in that last season to be honest. It wasn’t a patch on the four previous seasons. The Barry Keoghan thing didnt work at all. Just seemed like an over exagerated character.

The Micks were meant to be this fearsome firm but seemed to only number about three of them.

Could have been an awful lot better. A pity.

Started this German thriller called ‘Dear Child’. Two episodes in, it’s really good so far.
