New Ireland manager

John Delaney thinks “Saipan was 13 years ago”.

“Saipan was 13 years ago, we were all young men back then…time to draw a line in the sand”

“Martin turned down jobs to take this job”

“Young Wilson has always wanted to play for Ireland”

If John Delaney can’t count the the number of years since 2002, it’s no wonder the FAI’s finances are in such a state.

“I won’t let any individual or personal interest get in the way of what is best for Irish football”

“please God, with this appointment, we’ll make Irish football great again”

So say we all.

Great to see Newstalk secure this exclusive with Mr Delaney.

"I’m delighted with Dermot Desmond’s support, I’m delighted with Denis’ support’

“You wouldn’t want anyone killed in Formula 1 but you wouldn’t mind a shunt or two”

Reminds me of the time Off The Ball had a huge exclusive with Trap, Marco and Manuela in Poland.
Surely Dunne was a great disappointment for a lot of his career? It was only in 2004 that he really began to turn it around at City and earned an Intl recall. He was even out of favour with Kerr for a lot of his reign if I recall correctly. He really only became a fixture under Staunton in 06/07 at which point the much maligned Robbie was starting to captain his country.

Sure Dunne is viewed most favorably now and rightly so for turning his career around as he did and eventually turning in the performances he was capable of, but I always found it laughable that a Professional athlete got praised for, well, doing his fucking job and being professional.
Like you do for your employer by spending all this time in here.

Ah lovely

See croppy’s explanation. The late entrants, the player and coach abusers etc. the odd GAA person carried on like that but they are a very small minority. Except with the Dubs. The overwhelming majority though are spot on.

bigger number of fans means more idiots…dublin will always have that but they will definitely be in the minority…and as bad as they are they don’t over step it in terms of physical abuse like Cork fan did to tompkins in '03 up in rosscommon or the kerry lad that hit Paidi a slap in croker…

No they spit at the manager and roar abuse at a coach leaving the stadium. The numbers are bigger no doubt, but the % of people with the Dubs not having a clue is a bit higher than other counties in my experience.

You picked out individual incidents over the last 15 years. It’s a bit more consistent with the dubs.

Pillored Caffrey a dudlin GGA legend and diehard, volunteers to work at archbishop park and get overtime while GGA is on

That sums up it all up
