New low for the GGA

Yes, Tipperary folk just love defending Tipperary Footballers.

Well you’re defending a lad who tested positive for a banned substance in an All Ireland final.

It’s actually worse in O’Mahony’s case, an established county player who was fully aware of the rules and permitted levels he could use of this performance enhancing drug - yet exceed them when playing in an All Ireland final.

Why wasn’t he banned & sanctioned?

Has every player who participated in an All Ireland Final with Asthma now an * beside their names?

  • Drug Cheats

 Kerry have more All Irelands than the NINE ulster counties combined. #comeupforairyoudumbcunt

Peter the Great has Asthma too @Nembo Kid

I await your damning newsflash.

No. Did you read the article? O’Mahony exceeded the permitted level for asthma “sufferers”. Maybe you think it’s ok for players to knowingly flaunt doping regulations. He was reprimanded by the GGA but their frivilous attitude towards doping meant they gave him a pass.

Peter The Great never tested positive for a banned performance enhancing substance.

Thankfully he was never suffering from a heavy cold before an All Ireland appearance.

Thankfully he could rely on his ability and not banned performance enhancing substances.

My argument is based in fact and precedent, you’ve still got your blinkers on.

I can’t find in black & white print anywhere this Ban or Sanction O’Mahony received which proves him a cheat as you claim. My Bad.

Why do you need a ban or sanction?

The fact is he tested positive for a banned performance enhancing substance. The test showed he had exceeded the permitted levels allowed, the permitted levels that he would have had full knowledge given that he had applied for permission to use it. He exceeded those levels, got caught and GGA gave him a free pass. The incident showed two things, O’Mahony doped and the GGA showed a laissez-faire attitude to stamping PEDs out of their game.

Why do you need vindication from a body who doesn’t want to tackle doping or at least don’t want to tackle it with their establishment team are found guilty.

You’d have to a big asterisk beside them now.

Since 1991 Ulster counties have won 9 out of the 24 All Ireland, a higher proportion than any other province. It’s no surprise that our success increased just as the war was coming to a conclusion.

Time to Ban lads with Asthma from playing GGA.

You seem to be missing the point. There was a permitted level there for asthma sufferers. O’Mahony exceeded it, with knowledge.

Ceasefire was announced in 1994 mate, since then Kerry 7 titles v 9 Ulster counties 6 titles.

In the interests of fairness, I should do it on a provincial basis since the ceasefire in 1994 (incl 1994)
Munster (Kerry & West Cork) 8 titles v 9 Ulster counties 6 titles.
The ceasefire did wonders for Martin Ferris and the boys.

I said coming to a conclusion. The level of activity was greatly down in the early 90s. Not forgetting the soft path you guys pave for Kerry every year.

No mate you just plucked a year out of your arse because it suited your argument.
97 people died in 1991, 88 in 1992, 88 in 1993, 64 in 1994. No difference in the level of activity at all.

Now that’s a serious clamping.
