One of his best mates is an Israeli who excused the genocide too
So thats 2 genocides flatty is ok with? In fairness, he’s zero tolerance for jim ratcliffe. 1 out of 3 aint bad.
Oh fuck off
Ok mate. You’ve had a few drinks i presume. The abu dhabi lads are funding a genocide in Sudan. Widespread murder and mass killings. I understand that you hate united and love what they’ve done for manchester, but the outraged morality about robbie keane as compared to a regime actively promoting genocide while stripping the resources from a country is a bit ott considering…
All he’s missing is a headset and he’s basically an NFL coach.
That green Gatorade bath at the 56 title winning game is going to be glorious.
I can’t think of much to be optimistic about about Potential New Coach Nancy, except that he looks cool as fuck.
He also has a very deep voice.
I hope Celtic aren’t getting shafted by appointing him.
I think there may be a subconscious thing here where some Celtic supporters are choosing to believe Gil Scott-Heron is being appointed as manager.
I’m getting more impressed with each youtube snippet I watch of him.
What’s he got about him?
I’m reading he plays a 343 or 3421 where his teams keep it in their own half & bait the opposition to press & then inject tempo & play through them quickly. Slow, controlled & then a risky bit & pace.
Sure hardly any jocko team will press Celtic, they’ll all be camped out in their own box.
When the others don’t press he gets his defenders to push up to their defensive line to create “overloads” and confusion and brings the striker wider to trick them out of their block.
He seeks to have this thing where they never pass it long but then all of a sudden they do it in matches where the opposition is trying to man mark the midfield and then his teams play over the top to the wide areas.
Basically he has a style that seems very deliberate and schemed but he changes it up when teams are overly expecting that. It’s how
I used to setup TFK AFC when we were beating all comers. And then all of a sudden I’d drop the skillful @Monkey_Allen for the workhorse @Fran for a big game and upset all the opposition plans.
I’ve looked this guy up. He’s played 26 times in 8 years at a “senior level”. This is the equivalent of being a Muldoon who rocks along with the lads - essentially a Junior B - who togs for the seniors now and again in the odd league game when they’re short.
Now in honesty Celtic were a big club with history, tradition and a certain aura to them. This anticipated appointment won’t frighten their challengers and will in fact energise them. They’ll snigger to themselves and say Celtic are reduced to hiring journeymen.
@Cheasty is right here, keep MON on a sort of rolling contract and bring in Klopp in Jan.
No appointment this week. Club is right. Appointment shouldn’t be rushed.
M O’N isn’t above criticism but most are happy to have the club in his and Shaun Maloney’s hands for how long it takes to get this appointment right.
Before a lot of the forum’s time in supporting Celtic but he left Strachan with a serious rebuild job when he left. Also a lot of his players on big contracts like Bobo Balde which meant getting players in was hard and he let some players go leaving gaps in the team.
That said Strachan, who a lot of supporters weren’t keen on, had different ideas and done things a different way and some players found the adjustment hard.
The main thing to keep in mind is that horrible divisive rat is gone.
When Martin O’Neill said he was given 10 minutes to take the job by Dermot Desmond it reminded me of a story I heard of Albert Gubay. Younger members may need to google him.
Gubay rings a guy at home on Christmas Eve and tells him he wants him to work for him. Its a big job and will mean leaving his family for most of the week, a lot to take in. He asks Gubay for a bit of time to think about it. Of course he says.
5pm Christmas Day…ring ring…its Gubay. Well what’s your answer?
Does last night’s announcement that O’Neill & Maloney will remain in place while the process to appoint a new manager continues signify anything?
I thought the wheels were very much in motion to appoint Nancy. Is anything changing here? Maybe it’s just the fact he’s in the US & will need to uproot his life/family etc, organise his staff? Perhaps those logistical things are being worked out this week & he’ll be announced over the weekend after the St Mirren match?
I haven’t seen anything to suggest some issue or other has come up to stall talks, or make his appointment unlikely.
Big Hamish on Celtic AM had a deep dive into Nancy on his podder yesterday morning.
The fact this lad’s name is pronounced ‘Noncy’. I fear this could go south fast. If a few bad results come in the other side will have a field day with it on social media.
Nancy looks cool as fuck. This will succeed. MLS is a very physical league. This guy will know the score and he might pick off a few gems from over there.
Herald Scotland have more on Nancy this evening - article copied below. Don’t think there’s any doubt he’ll be the next manager, it’s just a case of when it’ll be confirmed & when he’ll formally take charge. Some talk his start date will be 1 December because he’ll be within the last 12 months of his existing contract once we reach December…& there’s a lower release/compensation fee. Other chat that it’s due to him finalising his staff for the job. And the odd whisper too that it’s being stage managed to a certain degree & they fancy getting him started with Dundee at home on 3 December rather than this run of away games (Feyenoord & Hibs away this week). I’d say it’s more 1 & 2 than 3. If you didn’t think he could cope with a few away games first up then you wouldn’t be thinking much of him.
The Columbus Crew backroom staff Wilfried Nancy wants to join him at Celtic

Wilfried Nancy wants Columbus Crew backroom staff Kwame Ampadu and Yoann Dammet to join him at Celtic.
The French Canadian is close to being named as the replacement for Brendan Rodgers in what would be his first coaching role outside North America.
The 48-year-old has won the MLS Cup and Leagues Cup in the last two years and was named MLS Coach of the Year. Last year he took Columbus Crew to the CONCACAF Champions Cup final.
Herald Sport understands Nancy has been quietly sounding out former colleagues with experience of Scottish football in recent days and has already provided an outline of the kind of players he wants to sign in January.
He is also likely to be joined in Glasgow by Ampadu, the coach of Exeter City U18s when Celtic’s head of football operations Paul Tisdale was manager, and 35-year-old Frenchman Dammet.
In the aftermath of Rodgers’ resignation Martin O’Neill agreed to fill the post on an interim basis, assisted by Shaun Maloney. The iconic boss likely to move aside after the Europa League clash with Feyenoord and this weekend’s trip to Easter Road to face Hibernian. The expectation is that Nancy’s first game will be the home clash with struggling Dundee next midweek.
The new coach arrives to a backdrop of unrest at Parkhead. Speaking after victory over St Mirren in Paisley O’Neill urged ‘some sort of unification’ between club and fans after the annual general meeting was cut short in acrimonious circumstances.
An appointment will end weeks of speculation when Nancy featured a list of candidates including Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna, Robbie Keane of Ferencvaros and Wales coach Craig Bellamy.
Columbus Crew’s failure to reach the MLS Cup play-offs offered an opportunity to progress talks ahead of a January window when Celtic will look to strengthen in a number of key areas.
The Irish link.
Get him in. And get his young fella up from Leeds
Kwame Ampadu is a good Scoil Ui Chonaill man.
