What is over-complicated about it?
Gman is right about having one defensive player being rubbish.
We need one per position if we are going to do it at all.
I’d be in favour of that.
As it stands I have poor enough knowledge of defensive players other than marquee names.
The same way I had poor enough knowledge of offensive players up until I started playing this 3 years ago.

Why did you reduce the bench size?

nah. if you had 5 players or something maybe, but just picking one is shite.

if you were to pick only one offensive player for a team, who would it be? WR, RB, QB etc? too many options, and changes week to week depending on match ups.

therefore only having one defensive player doesnt make sense. Do you go with a pass rush linebacker, do you go with a deep safety who makes tackles, a corner who is hot on interceptions, a nose tackle who stops runs?

And your defensive player options would depend on their opposition, like you wouldnt go with a safety against Colts, or you know the Jags are going to run the ball all day long.

D/ST score feck all as it is, having one defensive player isnt going to contribute much to the scoring system and is too much of a n up and down type set up for scores. you could have 4 interceptions one week, and not even a tackle the week after. at least offensive players have oppertunites to get scores to keep them consistant.

It’s not limited to one per position, that can be changed. Having thought about it, picking a CB for example would be difficult. Revis is obviously the NO.1 CB but he’d probably socre nothing because he hardly ever gets thrown at.

Probably best to leave it out then gauging from the reaction.

yeah exactly. a defensive playes worth isnt always played out in fantasy stats. think for this league and the players playing it wouldnt work well.

Well that is true of offensive players too.
Offensive linemen and fullbacks don’t get any fantasy kudos either.
It’s the nature of fantasy games.

For what it is worth, I think adding defensive element would be an excellent addition.

Or let people pick their spot based on the reverse of last year’s standings.

I asked this already. I’d have pick 12.

To be perfectly honest, having 2 picks in the top 13 is not exactly a massive penalty for being defending champion.
I’m not suggesting removing serpentine drafting either. I think people should pick what spot they want. As champion I take what I’m given.
That way too people will have to live by their choice. Do you want the #1 pick or do you want 2 picks in the top 13? Make your choice.
