NME's Best Songs of the 90s

The NME is no longer for the shelves :disappointed_relieved:

When did you last buy it?

A load of wank for 10 years now at least…

Hasn’t been on the shelves in Eire for 3 or 4 years.

I find it gas lads lamenting something like this. It had its day, shit moves on.

I’d say you could double that.

Yeah, Brit pop killed it. The Noel and Liam wank off …

Yes, I certainly tuned out with sheer boredom after incessant articles about Blur, Oasis, Pulp, Suede etc.

I was never much a NME man, more so Q, which has also fallen away terribly over the last ten years or so.

That’s the way it’s gone now.

I’d say I haven’t read it since about ‘94. The last time I read it they were bigging up The Cardigans before they made it.

I’d have read it religiously in the early to mid 90s, along with select magazine, then would have picked it up occasionally through to about the mid 2000s, haven’t seen it in years but when I saw it was finishing it reminded me of a good time.
Some of the NME mix tapes from back then were superb

between guys reading NME and other guys spending their youth doing quiz this has to be the dweebiest forum in Christendom

I did up a mock front cover for a hypothetical Stone Roses 20th anniversary edition of the NME in 2009 as part of a Photoshop project. Now somewhere in the nether regions of the hard disk of a laptop that was deemed uneconomical to repair.

It was brilliant. The mock front cover I did up, that is, not the NME.
