Noel to play support to the Chill Peppers in Croke Park next Summer. Should be the other way round naturally, but beggars cant be choosers.
Noel Gallagher in absolute flying form on Soccer AM, what a gent
He is on Late Late tonight
Cheers larry
He’s playing the point tonight aswell
Anyone remember a time in the late 1990s when he came on the Late Late after a Dublin gig and Gay Byrne was presenting? It was one of those occasions that sometimes happened back then where the show was extended beyond its usual slot. He did a few acoustic songs and Gay’s ego was stroked by him saying that his mam always said he had to come on the Late Late if he was ever in Ireland. A series of auld wans in the audience raised the hand to ask Noel to say hello to their boys watching at home.
First time he came on he played Liver Firever and Wonderwall. Was around time of What’s The Story. Gay was big on role Noel’s mam played in getting him on the show and how she loved the show. He also brought up whether Noel was Irish ir English. Noel came on again couple of years later and was after gig at point when he sang all vocals. He didn’t sing on that occasion as his voice was tired. Show was indeed extended on first appearance. I was a big Noel fan years ago and bought pirate copies of his Late Late appearances on video.

Noel confirming that ‘the big house’ is slang for a mental asylum/prison at 2:27.
I’ve been at better gigs to be honest. A lot of filler from the new solo album in the first half of the gig. Got better in the second half though with Talk Tonight, and Whatever. The encore was good with Little By Little, The Importance of Being Idle and Don’t Look Back In Anger. I Wanna Live In a Dream In My Record Machine is probably the best track live off the album. Everybody’s On The Run is good too but the production ruins it a bit.
Have to say the album gets weaker with every listen. There’s about five good tracks there but it’s not classic stuff. I actually prefer Beady Eye’s album which is just filthy rock ‘n’ roll and doesn’t pretend to be anything else. The thing with Noel is that when it’s just him and a guitar on his own it’s spine tingling stuff. When he has a backing band it actually takes away from it. Still worth the admission fee just to hear him play Talk Tonight though.

Prefer “Liverpool Forever” to be honest. A lot of booing when he started talking about Manchester City. Not me. My enemy’s enemy is my friend.
Twitter informs me that he dedicated a song to Mario Balotelli.
Not sure if he actually dedicated a song to Balotelli but he certainly mentioned him.
In recent years Noel has taken a lot of the plaudits for Oasis but it was always about Liam’s voice for me. I quite liked Beady Eye’s album as well. Kill for a Dream is a wonderful song.
As I said it’s just filthy rock ‘n’ roll. It’s more fun. I think it’s a very under rated album. God knows what they did to Liam’s voice in the production though. He hasn’t been able to sing since the late 90s. He’s actually been able to achieve the difficult feat of both burning out and fading away.
I give it about three years before the reunion tour.
Late Late interview is up on the player. He’s a gas fucker in fairness to him.
Noel has announced that he will be playing at various Euro 2012 Fan Zones during the tournament. Gdansk is apparently pencilled in for Saturday June 16th although it hasn’t been officially announced yet… I’m booked in to leave Gdansk for Torun that day but Poland’s excellent late night train services should allow me to take in the living legend’s live showcase once again.
