The nuclear deterrent makes them difficult to tackle. Thatâs why countries want it so badly. Sanctions arenât going to help. And Trump needs something a bit more spectacular than sanctions anyway.
I doubt theyâd like the yanks to extend their influence though in a place where they share a land border, nor would the Russians be too happy with it. The Chinese might let em do a few bombing runs maybe, but sure the North Koreans could be in Seoul by lunchtime if they did.
The situation is very worrying. What the world has to deal with in this situation is an unstable megalomaniac who appears to be living in an alternate reality, is out of control and utterly drunk on his own power, has a cabal of sycophantic yes men around him, and who is liable to do literally anything.
And as an added difficulty, Kim Jong-Un is also involved.
Thatâs the really scary thing about the whole situation. The North Korean establishment is more interested in preserving their own feudal power system than anything else, but at a certain point they may decide they need to act. The Yanks have grown accustomed to this mindset where the chessboard stays static and they are the ones who set things in motion. Thatâs why Putin caught them off-guard in Syria. If the North Koreans did decide to assault Seoul it would be over before the Yanks could do anything. Sure they could bomb North Korea into dust again afterwards, but at the cost of one of the largest cities in Asia.
Do they really have a nuclear deterrent though? The have a few bombs, which are too big to fit on the end of their rockets at the minute and the yanks would have them shot out of the sky if they tried to go too far. They will have the capability shortly though which is what worries the yanks. The bombs they have detonated in controlled conditions are all estimated to be weaker than that dropped on Hiroshima. So they are along way off where theyâd need to be to actually threaten the yanks
Things are starting to heat up. The latest ICBM launched by NK can reach Chicago and possibly east coast. Japan issued a report overnight that NK have developed a miniaturized nuke that could fit on an ICBM, confirmed by US intelligence sources. Trump has just promised âfire and furyâ if NK doesnât quit the provocation.
Hard to predict next moves, but wouldnât be surprised if South Korea launched a preemptive strike, taking out NKâs entire command and control, similar to Gulf War I.
