Too much grinding poverty. Too much awful education. Too much family and societal breakdown.
Think on it this way. England is not that much bigger geographically than Ireland.
Stick 60 million people in Ireland and see what happens.
In some ways it’s surprising how relatively safe it is.
Oh and cheap lager and cocaine.
And the absolute dregs of gutter journalism.
