November Rugby Internationals (On the sesh with the Goys)

Gadzooks! Have at you, you varlet cunt.
Ah, a great game from Johnny. MOTM today. He can kick, tackle, take men on, pass off both sides-all to a much, much, much, much higher standard than ROG.
Frankly, if Kidney does not start Sexton next week in place of O’Gara, then Kidney should be sacked.
Spot on Pikey:clap::clap::clap:
7 from 7 is some return from a debutant
A cut above O’Gara at this stage to be honest

I remember Paddy Walllace kicking 8 or 9 conversions against the pacific island a few years ago, hopesexton starts next week, will well and trully show where he is at

Kidney should have been sacked last season after the Six Nations for the negative brand of rugby football Ireland played.

Anyone who thinks O’Gara should be started against the Saffas = a complete and utter retard.

Can you imagine the Saffer backrow running down O’Gara’s channel all day
We might as well leave the door open

Couldnt judge Jonny Sexy fully on a game against a scrap side thrown together with Gary Ella caching them for a week or two played in Sexy’s backyard.

Its a big call for Kidney, throw him and risk ruining his upward curve if it doesn’t go well (and lets be honest, its the Saffers), or protect him by introducing him to Intl rugby bit by bit. I have no doubt Kidney will do the right thing because he usually does. Les Kiss was singing O Gara’s praises in how he’s been so helpful to Sexton during the week. ROG is an alright sort.

I wasn’t judging Johnny on one game anyway-I’ve been saying it for over a year now that he should be starting ahead of ROG. It would be one of the biggest disgraces of Irish rugby if Johnny does not play against South Africa. O’Gara will be tossed around like a rag doll.

Ah now that’d exaggerating things a little, there’s been plenty more than that in the history of Irish rugby. Tyrone Howe’s Intl career being first and foremost in my mind.

A November Intl isn’t the be all and end all. Sexton is for the future, not just for a run out to be made roadkill against South Africa. Its for the 6N for the next 8-10 years that we’ll want Sexton. Kidney will do the right thing, he always does.

Exactly-this is my point-Sexton should be tried out in a friendly against a top team-ideal.
And if Kidney doesn’t think that, it’s the biggest disgrace in irish rugby and the man should be sacked. O’Gara has been shit for 2 years in a row now for Ireland-one drop goal aside (Sexton scores drop goals from the halfway line)

Sexton’s nowhere near reaching his peak but he’s already more than twice as good as O’Gara was in his prime.

You said you’ve been advocating Sexton for over a year, he only became first choice for Leinster in May, give him a chance, he’s on an upward curve.

Kidney (and Leinster of course) is managing his development well, and he’ll continue to do so. If he believes letting Jonny get run over by the Saffer back row might not be the best idea for his development then I’d have to trust his judgement on that one.

There’s no one better than Doctor Phil-he wasn’t getting in there. His talent was spotted, Rog was shit for a long time and Sexton was named as the man to step forward-but no-we continued with the farce that is O’Gara and don’t forget, as people have short memories, this is the guy that looked as if he was doing his best at times to lose the 6 nations for us (thank you BOD for ruining that).

PM, you seem to think I’m disagreeing with you, I’m not, Sexton is the future, I’m just urging caution. We can’t afford to ruin this guy. Kidney delivered the Slam last year with that side, O Gara done what was needed and got us over the line. Sexton will have his chance in the future to see if he can do likewise, I hope that he can.

Wouldn’t dismiss Humphreys chances of making an impact before end of season either. Much improved player who has fair bit of class about him. Hasn’t got rub of the green as far as Irish selections have gone either.

Lads if he doesn’t get a chance now then realistically its next summer before he starts a test, another year down the track
Let him play against the Saffers, nobody will expect much of him and he’ll get great experience

I think he’s lacking mentally at the moment, certainly has the tools to be a fine player.

No way near the top two at the moment though.

Yea, the more I think about it the more sense it makes, I just don’t see any reason to run O Gara down to build Sexton up. A yar ago Sextons confidence was so shot he was sent back to AIL rugby to build it back up, he’s come a long way, and my argument is that we shouldnt push him too far too fast.

he wont start next weekend i reckon even though hes a better player… he should be given 20 mins next weekend though

We’re supposedly building towards a World Cup in New Zealand in 2011, at which stage it will be Sexton, Ian Humphreys and possibly Ian Keatley vying for the out half position.

Sexton is the man in form at the moment and there’s no argument but that he should start next Saturday.
