Which is it, the Irish health system is mostly excellent or like Vietnam?
If consultants are running the show it means management who should be doing it are shit. Regardless, my point stands, for the conditions they have to work in, nurses should be well paid. 23 - 28K starting salary isnāt well paid, a fucking useless guard earns more starting out.
I canāt help it if you are slow in the head.
Stop changing words. I said much not most. Other parts are like Vietnam.
A and ĆØ is a disgrace in much of the country. The way older people sometimes have to access healthcare through emergency wards and end up as bed blockers is mental.
I posted up before about trying to get appointments with an eye doctor and how ridiculous it was thus forcing us to go private(which was excellent). The shithouse that is the queues and waits for appointments with specialists throughout the country are a disgrace.
And yet there are some parts that are excellent. My older brother went to a doctor a while ago not feeling great. He was sent to hospital immediately, got a bed, got diagnosed with a heart condition and had open heart surgery within about 8 days. Unbelievable. And definitely not third world. My dad has been a regular visitor to hospital in his later years with various conditions and his treatment has always been excellent. My mam is on permanent chemotherapy for a type of myeloma. She has seen the same nurses and specialists throughout and even though sometimes the process is appalling(delays in bloodtests/waiting for drugs/porters etc.) the personal care, interest and application they show in terms of listening to her concern, needs and wishes regarding her own health are fantastic. As I said, once you manage to get into the system it can be quite good.
Is it that hard to believe that in a health system as vast as ours(or indeed any health system) there can be huge differences in patient outcomes and experience? And that some would be disgraceful and some would be excellent?
The general rule seems to be that those with health insurance get good treatment while those on medical cards are treated shoddily. I accept all health care systems have problems, the costs in the US are outrageous, but the old are very well taken care of via Medicare. For the amount spent on it Medicaid (low income, etc) is a bit of a shambles, seems to be a common theme in many countries.
Flesh it out.
āPay them what they deserveā
What do they deserve?
Sounds like you go on emotion rather than thinking anything through.
Are there international stats for that? Iād be interested in what the ānormalisedā level would be of nurses leaving and not returning to the system.
You get all the INMO planted stories in the press alright, but what are the stats behind it? Nursing is a prime candidate type of job for people to move abroad when qualified. They get out of college after 4 years with a homogeneous skillset globally and are ready to go. They arenāt like other degree holders that might require 2 to 3 years of additional years to get the additional professional experience to be āqualifiedā.
Run me through how itās āincompetenceā. Gov does public sector pay deal where large proportions of the economic recovery goes in pay raises and which the nursing unions vote to sign up to. Nurses then renege on deal because they want more. Gov says no because if they cave then the rest of the deal collapses around them. Have I missed something?
The lads on the public accounts committee are all very disappointed that it is going to cost so much more.
A nurse wanked me off before.
Iād give the nurses money ahead of guards anyway.
In A&E the time of your stag to restart your heart.
Did you give her a raise?
So you didnāt get the ride.
She put him to sleep and jumped on him then.
He wishes
Iād say there are stats alright Tim. Youāll have to get off your Tory hole and hit the Google button to find them though.
Weird level of condescension here towards nurses. You do realise that nurses specialise and differ in their skillsets right? Itās not all about the sexy uniform?
Fine uniform all the same though
Oooft!!!
Youāll have to get off your Tory hole
