Well I don’t know what their pay scales are like in the south. I’m not a teacher, but I’ll tell you what, come back to me when you’ve spent a couple of years in front of 30 obstreperous, disruptve teenagers and still have your arrogance and quite frankly, ignorance. Did some teacher give you a well deserved belt round the head whaen you were at school?

Not all like that,but those who really try are burnt out ,2 friends teaching in Derry,carnhill high school, burnt out by 47/ 48- same guys who promoted Gaelic games in Derry at the height of the conflict and worked hard with real underprivileged kids -

I got a few clips, I hold no will over it. I just happen to think they are overpaid, entitled and underworked. They should not be paid for 3-4 months holidays in the year.

I’m on about the teachers mate. I think teachers should be retrained as nurses during their summer holidays or have to forfeit 1/4 of their wages.

I disagree & think you have absolutely no clue what teachers actually do. Like in any job there’s wasters and skivers but they’re very much a minority. Anyway if you want to slag teachers off start a thread and I’ll meet you there. This one is about nurses’ justifiable demand for more pay.

I’m just saying I would cut teachers pay and give it to nurses. Teachers are overpaid, underworkes and their sense of entitlement to big wages (pro rata) and free summers is ridiculous. Those perks are why most of them get into it.
