Great for so many families to be able to be reunited. I see that the so called tolerant and pro migrant left are not happy with him because he has “opened up Australia to new variants”. It’s a mad world that a right wing conservative is now the friend of open borders…!

By the way @glasagusban, I asked you for your view on variants yesterday, and you never answered.
Lo and behold, we heard last night about a new super Delta variant coming out of Scotland with a transmission advantage estimated at 5-20%.
You might address what the consequences of that are likely to be?
Maybe Dimmy might like to, instead of scouring Twitter for tweets which accord with his confirmation bias, which has proven to be wrong for the entirety of the pandemic?

Your point was that we should move to zero covid because variants. It was a stupid point because the whole world will not move to zero covid and Ireland doing so will not impede the potential for variants to occur. Where variants do occur, zero covid won’t keep them out.

You’re still not answering the question, buddy.
You want sensible public health measures dropped across Europe. You support the UK Government policy.
The UK Government was warned that their policies would lead to UK becoming a variant factory and we are seeing early evidence that this may indeed be the case.
If you want to be taken in any way seriously, you need to deal with the likelihood of variants emerging due to these policies that you support, and the consequences of such.
I suppose I’m only asking you about this because you’re one of the very few OIUTF posters who is actually prepared to engage in any sort of debate at all, the rest of them are in hiding.

You’re making up things that I’ve said again. Im sorry I engage with you on this every time, you don’t respond to anything merely go off on big long rambling rants in favour of an approach that’s been rejected across our continent.
You’ve swallowed it whole as an article of faith. You and zero covid is the exact same as trying to engage with a brexiteer or a trump supporter.
Projection is a terrible thing. You’ve had an appalling pandemic.
