Latvia is 49% fully vaccinated.
It seems to me like the correct way to look at this is that for every percentage point of your population that remains unvaccinated, the risk of bad stuff happening increases in some sort of quasi-exponential way.
Therefore there is a significant difference between a population that is 85% vaccinated as with Portugal and 75% vaccinated as with Ireland.
And more again with the UK and its 66%.
A private school in Miami is requiring pupils to quarantine for 30 days after vaccination.
Somehow I think the Republican “civil liberties” people will be just fine with this.

Poland records over 5,000 new cases for the first time since May
Poland is recording a continued steep rise in Covid cases. Today it has reported over 5,000 new cases for the first time since May.
Yesterday, the country reported 3,931 cases, which health minister Waldemar Kraska described as an 85% week-on-week increase.
How have they less than 4k and we have 2k???
They don’t border Plague Island & NI and they have better testing and tracing, maybe?
I would think it’s also pertinent to mention that Poland’s death rate is almost twice ours.

But I don’t believe it alone accounts for our higher covid rates, especially given our higher vaccination rates and higher level of restrictions over recent months.
The strong impression I get is that you poo poo the concept on a regular basis.
Nobody has said it alone accounts for our case figures.
Complacency, lack of testing, stupid decisions about who should or should not get tested, and general human interaction, all these are factors.
Right now complacency is our number one enemy, and it’s everywhere.
