I think he said that the tight wearer played well. His point about that, and echoed by Gizzy Ling, was that if you saw a lad trotting onto the pitch wearing tights you’d be thinking “we have these lads, what a load of softcocks”. He also pointed out that lots of sportpeople have medial ligament strains and he’d never seen or heard of tights being recommended as a support/aid for it.

If it is cold weather then you wear cold weather gear now that it exists. All this “when I was a lad” stuff is rubbish- we all remember playing games freezing our nuts off because there was no under armour etc.
