Official 2012 All Ireland Hurling Championship Thread

Aerial combat against Kilkenny is a terrible idea no matter who you are. I think Daly is going either way. Itā€™s only a question of what note he goes out on now.

like i said before the gameā€¦i feared thisā€¦cody is a master of feeding off the hype of other teams and then obliterating themā€¦
Is there ever going to be another team like Kilkenny under cody who just know when to work a goalā€¦they do it so oftenā€¦just bury a team early with working a goal where other teams tap it over the barā€¦mastersā€¦

Not too many teams have all singing, all dancing forwards like Kilkenny who can do everything. Lots of forwards have pace or power or great finishing ability but Kilkenny have four or five forwards with all three.

thats very true but it helps when they are all so aware of eachother instead of just being individualsā€¦makes it much easier to work goals if you know the run of other team matesā€¦

Iā€™d say itā€™s the least of the bankā€™s worries. He is from Tipp after all.

Limerick lead 1-06 to 0-1, 16 minutes

Limerick 1-6 Laois 0-1. 17 mins gone.

Wexford 0-9- 0-4 up

2-8 now to 0-1. Niall Moran with a goal

Kilkenny issued a statement of intent earlier but Wexford are responding to it, to show the cats they wonā€™t just stroll to another All Ireland. 3-14 to 0-6 now

Hannon on for the last 20 or so. 2-11 to 0-6

Wexford confounding the critics.

Hannon on

Injury canā€™t be bad if they are bringing him on here

Hopefully he comes through it and starts the next day out.

Hickey is back doing some light training also.

Two goals in a minute for Niall Moran.

6-21 to 1-11

Willie Hyland got 1-10 for Laois .

Spoke to the auld lad there and he reckoned Hannon looked very sharp when he came on.

Youā€™d probably look sharp yourself this evening, Phil.

Can you Clare cunts not just leave us to our optimism? Itā€™s all we have.

Dublinā€™s critical faculties completely deserted them as soon as the second goal went in. The fucking galling thing about it is that they were much the better team for the first ten minutes on the play. The manner of Sutcliffeā€™s point from under the stand in both its finishing and in the way he came out of the tight exchanges like that really suggested they were up for the fight. The wides along with Keaneyā€™s injury killed their heads completely though. To even compete with Kilkenny you need to be putting all those away. I think a big re-evaluation of quite a few players out there who clearly arenā€™t up to this standard is needed - Hiney, McCaffrey and Carton especially but also Ryan who is far too nice for this level, Corcoran, Durkin and Brady as well. Big mistake putting Brady on Richie Power who has destroyed him a couple of times in the past. In saying that there isnā€™t really any option but to continue to work with the players that are there as thereā€™s nobody better to replace them. Dublinā€™s skill levels will never match up to Kilkennyā€™s and psycholgically this will be shattering. A big review of what Rusheā€™s role is has to be undertaken and a settled position found for him, away from full forward, probably midfield.
