Official All Ireland Minor and U20 Hurling & Football Thread (Part 1)

My bad lad, thought this was the AI Hurling thread.

Dublin 2-16 Kildare 1-8

Should be a good crowd in for final with same 2 counties in the senior decider

Ha. This was supposed to be ā€œa very good Kildare minor teamā€. Dublin made utter mugs of them. Kildare had one tactic - basketball until the half way line then boom it up to the full forward who was their only threat. Difference in football ability was massive. Dublin moved the ball with ease through the pitch and every player looked at ease with ball, Kildare played in a turgid style. The first quarter was relatively even, Kildare led 0-5 to 0-3 but Dublin started dominating about the 15 minute mark. A soft goal from a high ball into the square kept Kildare in it and it was level at half time. Kildare actually got the first point of the second half, they barely had an attack after that apart from two abysmal efforts for points which ended up near the corner flag. Dublin are producing a really high calibre of player at underage level the last 3/4 years. The rest of the country should be very afraid.

Ah yes the gaa can start planning the 2020 senior football final fir November at Jones road. Should be quite an occasion.

other than moving cronin out of the half forward line its a team that shows courage. egan being dropped will be greeted with some malicious sneering round this area to be honest. lots of angst over his recent decision to play championship for his college the same day as the duhallow league final which kilbrin lost

its not really a worry for the rest of us as half of them will be either strung out on the boardwalk or chasing flat chested bitchs around marley park and drinking heino at some tag rugby extravaganza within five years

The best athletes in Kildare have 4 legs and eat hay. Well done to McGeeney for getting a few of thm to try kick football too.

Thereā€™s no such place as Marley Park in Dublin, mate.

Tipperary Munster Minor Hurling and Football Champions 2012

Dublin beat Meath 3-17 to 1-11 in Leinster final

Really? I wouldnā€™t believe any of the shit that comes out of your mouth. Can someone please verify.

Mayo have beaten All Ireland champions Tipperary by 8 points
you are a clown ā€™ mateā€™ and a lazy one at that. Bit of advice for you. When you decide to state something as a fact try checking first.

Expert on Munster minor football as well are you!!

Doubt they will be meeting that many teams that are much better than Tipp.
you can add Mayo to the teams mentioned earlier you horses ass. The Kerry minors are weak and they will only beat sides who are afraid of the jersey.

somehorse talking somehorseshitā€¦ kev will feeding off thisā€¦

Kerry are in serious trouble, the replacements they have for the likes of GAlvin, Tom O Sullivan, the o seā€™s etc are not related to the class Og aforementioned. They are actually in a far worse position than Cork hurling and that should scare them as the individuals donā€™t seem YO be there, not to mind the groups like they had come thru in 2000ā€™s. Johnny Buckley will improve them no end at midfield, but after that the likes of Enright, Crowley, Geaney, O Donoghue, Casey etc are all good players, buy very manageable and also lacking in a bit of size overall.

I must say I want us to always beat them and be better, I just hope they donā€™t go as shit as in early 90ā€™s.

How many All-Ireland minor medals has the Kerry team of 1997-2012 won between them?

Itā€™s irrelevant sid. They as individuals were excellent players already and improved as they joined the seniors. But Kerry had quite good U21 teams and this is a far more important age IMO. They were so far off 2 years ago it was startling. They improved somewhat this year but Cork were only a shadow of a team compared to what they could have been or what went before them. Dublin showed the real standard.

More than anything Kerry have a size issue, they just donā€™t have thebig men coming thru with the required skills.

Confidence is a huge thing in sport and the confidence of the next generation cannot be too high and once this present team finally loses a batch of retirees in the next year or two itā€™s going to be a long way back.
