Official All Ireland Minor and U20 Hurling & Football Thread (Part 1)

I’ve an 8 yr old nephew living in Newbridge who’s hurling mad. He’ll win an AI yet.

He plays Rounders too?

The clue is in the post

Is the answer you’re talking through your hoop?

Naas play in the U16 and minor leagues in Kilkenny

Could replicate Mount Leinster Rangers meteoric rise to Leinster honours yet so.

Are Laois under pressure from Kildare in hurling?

Where do Naas play their hurling?

Should we answer each question with another question?

Would you not answer the question?

They had a few lads from Tipp who have really pushed it on over last decade. I think Naas played in Dublin leagues for a while underage. They may still have teams in it.

Had a serious underage team a few years back. They now get the pick of any young lad in surrounding area who wants to hurl.

It’s a great day for Kildare hurling and all the work that has been done over the last decade.

Davy would pay for the upgrade of the ground in Newbridge with his fundraising activities, so he would.

Friday 9 July

Ulster U20FC quarter-finals
Cavan v Down, Kingspan Breffni, 8pm
Fermanagh v Antrim, Brewster Park, 8pm
Derry v Monaghan, Owenbeg, 7.30pm
Tyrone v Donegal, Healy Park, 8pm

Most of the games shown on PaircTV for the princely sum of €6 a pop. Watched Donegal v Armagh last Friday. Donegal look to be in good shape but Tyrone will be hard to beat.

Kildare could/should really start thriving at both codes in the next 10 years.

There’s a load of people from Tipp/Kerry settling in places like Maynooth, Naas, Celbridge these days.

If these people can bring the sense of community from Tipp/Kerry to Kildare, it will go a long way.

Kildare has really struggled for identity in the last decade.
