Official All Ireland Minor and U20 Hurling & Football Thread (Part 1)

With the way S&C has gone it’s very difficult to see U-21’s/20’s having that instant impact at senior. Much bigger physical jump to be made now. Galway had 5 U-21’s on the 98 team. Mad when you think about it now but didn’t seem so at the time at all. If you had a good young lad you just threw him out there back then.

Apologies if this question has already been asked… But is Munster Minor Final being streamed?

Thanks very much.

I was just told authoritatively, inter alia, by someone on the phone that TG4 were not screening the game, which I found hard to believe but he was emphatic…

Normality restored, thankfully. Good luck to Cork and Waterford.

Is there some restriction they can’t show in on main TG4 channel . It would get good viewing figures

No idea, to be honest. Just was chatting to a friend about yesterday’s game and he was oddly dogmatic about Munster Final not being screened at all, which perplexed me. A google did not help me either, oddly.

Mikey Finn is class.

He has a bit of cut about him

Waterford still in it to a small degree.

Need to let go of the sweeper.

Hard to know is this Cork team exceptional or are the opposition just average to poor.

Exceptional.

They look very very good tbh . As Cork are getting their house in order at underage this could be the new normal .

The cork subs all look good too

Looking at it tonight you could pick 10 potential senior players at least. It’s a numbers game now for Cork that they have their house in order.

Other counties will have to really focus on schools hurling.

Just the second 11 point defeat for us this week.

How did Patrick Fitzgerald get on?

He was ok with the little ball he go. Ball to the forwards was poor to say the least.
Jack Twomey was our best player / forward on show tonigh. Scored 1-4 of 1-5 from play. Good sign of a lad on a team under the kosh in numerous positions all nigh and living on scraps.

They’ve been dominating the latter stages of Harty for the last 7/8 years with 4/5 Cork schools getting to the quarters regularly even though Cork schools have only won it once in that period. Eventually the breakthrough was going to happen. Tipp for all intents only have three Harty schools with High School and Cashel getting and odd run in it.

The lack of a real schools competition in Leinster with Kierans as the behemoth is an issue for Leinster hurling. With minor gone to under 17, schools hurling is the real barometer of coming teams.
