I think the only thing that could scupper that galway team is the seniors will need a few of them and the matches are on top of each other. That and James Skehill if he is still involved.
Skehill was involved with canning when they were minors and they were got rid of. I don’t know enough to judge whether that was a good call but I’m doubtful it was. Skehill reckons ten of that group will go on to be senior players.
I heard Skehill was on some podcasht bemoaning his own removal. Strange considering he wasn’t even appointed. Was brought in as a goalie coach and promoted himself. Feargal Healy and Joe were probably too afraid to tell him to do one.
Healy was told that if he wanted to get it for another year he’d need to replace his backroom staff. I’d be scratching my head wondering who they could have meant. They got a Loughrea man in to take over this year.
