Official All Ireland Senior Football Championship 2010 Thread

Add in Cork-Tyrone, Kerry-Antrim, Kerry-Sligo was only ok, but exciting, Kerry- Longford wasn’t bad, Wicklow played a couple of very good games, Galway-Donegal was excellent.

Don’t take any notice of the sunshine watchers.

Dublin v Kildare was good alright. The first Cork Kerry game was diabolical. A rake of the Kerry players were overweight and didnt give a shit.

Galway v Donegal was absolutely shocking Kev. There was hardly a player on the pitch who was capable of a kick pass. Galway v Mayo was a lot better but Mayo should have won pulling up.

Your beyond talking to.

I thought last year was a very poor championship and well off the standard of 2008.

The final in 2008 was a classic. Both Tyrone Kerry finals were. Backed Tyrone on the day at 5/2 if memory serves correct.

2008 was a better standard, won’t agrue with that.

As I said before I can’t see Sligo doing anything in Connacht given the fact that they must beat Mayo and Galway before they only reach the final but they could have a decent run in the Qualifiers. Kelly is a lovely footballer and has been for a few years now but is too lightweight to be considered one of the best around.

All signs point to Cork really and I certainly would not write off Tyrone, not with the fact that they have the same bunch of players that won it two years ago and with one of the great managers in charge. For similiar reasons I would not write off Kerry and would be hugely surprised if the winner came from anyone outside those 3.

You know the standard is fairly shit when Sligo and Limerick are getting singled out.

To have good seasons, not to be in the running to win the thing.

Both are decent football teams if you took the time to watch them and pulled yourself away from the 52 soccer teams you have to try and watch all year round.

Has anyone mentioned Tyrone and Kildare from last year?

That was a very good game.

Kev, I imagine you’ve only seen Sligo play the league final this season. Correct? Were you in Wexford Park or Enniskillen or anywhere else for their other games? You make definitive statements about teams based on single viewings and then have a go at other people for not having witnessed enough of them. You’re a bluffer, pal.

Thats pretty retarded, judging players on their weight.

Your right, Tyrone-Kildare was good. we won’t remember every game, but i think the point was being made that KIB was talking without substance.

No Bandage, i saw them against Kerry and Tipperary in last years championship as well. Also saw their U-21’s this year.

Try harder.

If you watch Kelly play, while he is skillful and accurate, he appears lightweight and can get thrown off the ball rather easily.

Gooch has better technique obviously of being able to withstand challenges etc.

[/quote]Bandage is just seething because he thinks you didn’t give enough attention to the mighty Wexford footballers a team who both Sligo and Limerick would take in the championship!

Are you trying to tell me you went to Enniskillen to see Sligo play?

Get off the stage fella.

I follow through other competitions as well bandage, U-21 & Sigerson, and you get to see players there as well. When you see a team perform then like Sligo do and how well drilled they are its easy enough to see they may show something this season. Its not rocket or an exact science. So i don’t judge on “one” game.

As i said, i never said they were going to win it out or anything.

I think your hurting over the slagging about the many soccer teams you follow. I’m not questioning your loyalty Bando, so relax, its only banter.

I’m banterising Farmer, obviously Gooch is better. Thing with Kelly is though if he gets decent ball he won’t be caught and it doesn’t matter how light or heavy he is, 'cos he’s a flyer.

I know, but i feel its more personal with Bandage, he thinks i’m questioning his loyalty with the following different soccer teams.

It is noticeable that himself and ncc have switched off from Celtic very early this season, with far less chat about them.

I’m feeling quite confident about Dublin’sprospects in Leinster this year considering we’ll only have to play two games to win it.

Similarly Kev, you might try to realise that people will have different opinions to you - you’re not definitively correct on every matter so there’s no reason to assume that it’s because someone has seen less of a team. U21 doesn’t bear much resemblance to senior when all is said and done and I saw them against Galway and Kerry last year.
