I only saw the highlights of the last game but from that and the other 2 I donāt think Doyle or Flynn have been poor enough to be dropped. Morrissey gives something different when he comes on and the last thing a wing forward probably wants to see after 50 mins is a fresh lad coming onto him who loves to attack and is well able to kick points. I donāt think Doyle or Flynn would offer the same impact as Morrissey does from the bench.
Did I read somewhere Boccy was injured after the Carlow game? Iām fairly sure weāve used almost all the same subs in every game so I presume this would mean bringing OāRegan in instead this time? Against Offaly we brought on Byrne, McGovern, Sunderland, Boccy and Morrissey. Against Westmeath it was Morrissey, Boccy, McGovern, Byrne and Muttley. Last weekend it was Morrissey, Boccy, Byrne, Sunderland and PJ. So 3 of the subs in every game are the same, and some changes are often made prior to 45-50 mins for tactical reasons. I still struggle to see why Byrne is being persisted with as our best options would appear to be Morrissey, OāRegan, PJ, and McGovern. Sunderland is also not up to much but Jason seems intent on having him in the Colm Morris role.
Decent save by Kealy but Kerrigan should have buried it. He didnāt seem to strike it cleanly. I thought OāConnor should have had a free in too when he fell forward into the large square.
Good lively stuff so far. Maher and sheahan getting stuck in at midfield and Kerry footpassing seems to be far more crisp and accurate that their Cork counterparts
