They do if they can keep Galvin on the pitch, hes the key to the year. The Gooch will play as well as he always does but without the supply of ball that Galvin guarantees he cant win games on his own. They would certainly be my biggest worry for the year anyways, Cork are deserved favourites alright though
Why Farmer, i said in the future. There is no indication at all of Kerry producing underage players really up to it, Tipp are. Barry John Walsh is the best player from 21 down to 17, and for me that says it all. Tipp have beaten them twice now on big days. This group of Tipp players will not fear Kerry, history matters little to young players. Corks periods of dominance are directly related to underage success because of this major factor, lack of fear. Kerry don’t need the same stream of good underage teams as they produce individuals on a regular basis. They are not even doing that now though.
Its very debateable if Kerry have the best forward line in the country anymore, i suspect by the end of the summer that title will be blown away. Brian Sheehan, Darran O’ Sullivan and Donnacha Walsh would not make the Cork team now, so thats half your forwards. Stop Gooch and you stop Kerry, not easy i realise, but much easier when he’s getting shite ball, which is what he’s going to get more of this year. Tommy Walsh is an incredible loss, really only coming to true light now. He’d be an option anywhere, including midfield.
If they really turn up sunday with that midfield then i would drop them down the rankings quick. That midfield would not beat Nemo’s midfield, neither of whom are IC players. You can’t expect to be successful at IC without a decent/good midfield at the very least.
I think thats exactly what they see Mullach. They aren’t planning for one-offs from what i can see. Kerry are a good 6 years behind them in development.
That Kerry U-16 team lost to all 4 sections in Cork, thats hardly a great sign. Unless you mean last years?
Graham Geraghty and Darren Fay are back on the Meath panel…
They might as well bring back Colm O’Rourke and Mick Lyons while they’re at it.
No surprises,
The Kerry team to play Tipperary on Sunday at 3.30pm in Fitzgerald Stadium is as follows:

Been saying it for a long time, Meath are going nowhere fast. Banty has lost it.
Holy fuck.
That’s a sure sign of problems. I thought Fay had more or less given up the ball and was concentrating on coaching.
Geraghty is what, 38 now? Fay what, 35?
Astonishing.
They still don’t have a bad bunch of players though.
But signs so far is that Banty was a woeful appointment.
Slightly off topic but I think Graham Geraghty must be up there when tallking about all time greats. To be able to play right half back, left half forward and full forward to such a high level, is the sign of a complete footballer.
Whatever hope they had, Banty was a ridiciculous choice, for County and Manager. I jsut never bought into the hype about them though, more often than not they’d throw out one good performance in a year and mullock their way to an All Ireland Semi Final. Never thought they were as good as they used to be made out to be. In Joe and Shane they have two top notch scorers who can win and score and Reilly was a some find last year, but their back line were there to be ate up. I saw them this year and they were trying the O Rourke fella from goals at full forward, Banty was clutching badly at straws I thought.
Agreed. Geraghty in full flow was some sight. He was electric at wing back. I remember when he made his debut against Laois back in the 90’s in the Leinster Cship in O Moore Park, he was on Colm Maher (RIP) and poor ol Colm looked like he’d been hit by a blonde cyclone. He was different class right from the off.
This a coup by Banty. Up there with Tony Dempsey bringing Martin Storey back into the Wexford squad for the 2001 All Ireland semi-final against Tipperary.
Still some top class players there though.
That midfield…
Rumours abound that Johnny Doyle will line out at midfield for Kildare today
Championship Sunday, sun is shining. Ah lovely.
When did Dec O’Sullivan leave Dromid Pearses?
Storey was some joke when he came on that day.
Why would he do that? I presume its a typo.
Darren Fay not returning, as confirmed by Banty on friday, keep up.
Still some pretty shite very Un-Kerry like players there as well farmer.
Fellas predicting Kerry this year just like KK in hurling, purely on name alone. Neither have the same players or bite about therm. That midfield is farcical.
