Look, I know it was never going to happen. Iâve said it to you before that I think Mac an tSaoir is the way to go, but as opposed to the others, theyâre nothing to get excited about with varying levels of skill. I was just throwing out there out of left field really, but a keeper with his direction is a huge asset imo. Iâd put nowt past JOC when it comes to thinking outside the box though.
Maybe for the international rules series heâd be a handy flygoalie sort of keeper. As it is, Kealy will start this weekend, Mac an tSaoir is pushing hard for the place though and playing very well at club football lately.
Is this a joke? Sheehan & Maher is all the great Jack can come up with?
Dunph i hope you didnât put that money on Kerry. 2 wins in a week for Tipp if this comes to pass.
Kerry are well and truly fucked for the next few years. Granted they have enough good fellas still there to be in top 4-5 this year, but last night, the U-21 & that midfield must make them sick to the core. Galvin is really struggling with injuries too, him doing his own thing in regards to weights and programs may be coming back to bite him in the arse now.
I can see a time not too far away when Tipp are the no.2 team in Munster behind Cork.
I was planning on going to the match this weekend but I reckon when Jack names the team is going to be horrible viewing, and I couldnât hack losing to Tipp at senior football so I really donât know will I bother my hole going.
Lads, are Tipp worth a shot at evens (+9) or 11/1 outright? Havenât really been following the thread.
Gone for the year Runt - did his cruciate in a challenge last weekend
This was our shortest championship campaign yet.
The demise of Kerry is being greatly exaggerated. Iâm with The Dunph on this one.
Youâre right bud, you canât discount that forward line, and I wonât. Only one team has done back to backs in the last 20 years, they were Kerry. Cork will have to do it before they entirely garner the respect they crave.
They still have the best forward line in the country but have major problems in midfield. Defensively they are not as strong as before either.
Talk of Tipp becoming the number two team in Munster is going a little bit far though!
Maybe caoimhaoin knows something about another strike in Cork GAA that will see the footballsers implode Farmer, you never know.
Whoâs keeping tot of high profile GAA players out with cruciate injuries? What are we up to now?
I donât think even the Tipperary footballing fraternity see that as a possibility in the near future.
Itâs always nice to break the duopoly at under-age level thoughâŚ
In my own opinion the problem with this Kerry side is that the team of the early naughtyâs was built on the back of some good U-21 and minor teams. There was a steady flow of top level talent always coming through. Other teams were on the downgrade and were rebuilding, like the Cork team for instance. Weâre now at the stage where the up and coming Kerry talent isnât as high quality as before. The intercounty underage results prove this. At club level, Kerry teams can still hold their own from Senior to Junior. I believe there is a good U-16 crop of players in the county and weâre going to have to wait a few years to see if they progress.
Kerry will beat Tipp this weekend, simply because they are still the better team. But unless its a poor championship, then Kerry will find it a tough summer.

Tipp won the Munster MFC in 1984. But I suppose the arrival of a viable senior hurling team for the county that year killed football
Most of that team were from football clubs though Fagan. I think football was killed before that.
Good underage structures now, there are enough players in the county to make a good fist of both codes.
fair enough. They had a couple of great chaps from down around Fethard way
i am- there are no high profile gga players so its 0
