Official All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 2010 Thread

Idiot.

He’s a minor, playing Senior club & county, Minor, U-21 club & county etc. Typical old school attitude.

In the old days…blaa blaa blaa. There wasn’t the training or the intensity back then, plus the hits are bigger and the games are faster.

Your opinion seems to drift with whoever the poster is posting the post. Had someone else posted this i daresay you would have agreed that its madness.

I find it ironic that this is exactly what you do regularly, and have done here again. Just in case, here’s some definitions of irony, you seem to have a deficit of it.

a.The use of words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning.
b.An expression or utterance marked by a deliberate contrast between apparent and intended meaning.
c.A literary style employing such contrasts for humorous or rhetorical effect. See synonyms at wit1.
2.
a.Incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs: “Hyde noted the irony of Ireland’s copying the nation she most hated” (Richard Kain).
b.An occurrence, result, or circumstance notable for such incongruity. See Usage Note at ironic.
3.Dramatic irony.
4.Socratic irony.

I think you’re trying to call me a hypocrite, even though i am certainly not that, and often agree with my enemies on here if i believe they may have a point or post something interesting.

Irony? Well the irony of this is that you used irony in the wrong context.

aw kids cant you play nice?

Any old iron, any old iron, any old iron

laughed at this. not that you have or dont have enemies, but it just sounds like back in primary school or something! I’d never have thought anyone would consider having enemies on an internet forum!

actually, be interesting to see your enemy list! and do you have a friend list to go alongside it and change them around!

I’m glad you laughed, it was for comedic effect.

MBB ignoring my last post makes me laugh.

cool! so am I on your good list? or does that mean I automatically go on MBBs enemy list?

dont worry, MBB will comment soon enough. I doubt there is a thread or post on here that he has never commented on!

Your on the “Good, but sometimes gets my goat” list, i think thats probably where you want to be anyway Gman.

I could never get your goat Kev, too quick for me :stuck_out_tongue:

Was out training Gman, my apologies for not getting back to the other fella quick enough. It was ironic that he comments on my posts obsessively, yet the post above was accusing me of likewise. I’m not sure I’ll take english lessons from a fella who can’t distinguish loose from lose and your from you’re.

As for an enemy list, jaysus christ…

Kilkenny lead at half-time, win at full-time

6:03 PM 12.AUG.2010

One notable aspect of Kilkenny’s destruction of Cork in last Sunday’s All-Ireland semi-final was the fact the game was a done deal at half-time. The Cats lead by 13 points having hit the Rebels for 2-12. No way back for Cork. I decided to have a look at the half-time scores in Kilkenny’s matches to see what trends emerged. Here are the stats for the Cats unbeaten championship run:

08 Aug 2010 Kilkenny (3-22) 2-12 : 0-05 (0-19) Cork AIHC S-F 1st half: 13, 2nd half: -1

06 Sep 2009 Kilkenny (2-22) 0-13 : 0-11 (0-23) Tipperary AIHC F 1st half: 2, 2nd half: 3
09 Aug 2009 Kilkenny (2-23) 2-12 : 1-09 (3-15) Waterford AIHC S-F 1st half: 6, 2nd half: -1
05 Jul 2009 Kilkenny (2-18) 1-10 : 0-07 (0-18) Dublin LHC F 1st half: 6, 2nd half: 0
20 Jun 2009 Kilkenny (2-20) 2-07 : 1-08 (3-13) Galway LHC S-F 1st half: 2, 2nd half: 2
07 Sep 2008 Kilkenny (3-30) 2-16 : 0-05 (1-13) Waterford AIHC F 1st half: 17, 2nd half: 6
10 Aug 2008 Kilkenny (1-23) 1-12 : 0-07 (0-17) Cork AIHC S-F 1st half: 8, 2nd half: 1
06 Jul 2008 Kilkenny (5-21) 1-09 : 0-10 (0-17) Wexford LHC F 1st half: 2, 2nd half: 17
15 Jun 2008 Kilkenny (2-24) 1-09 : 0-06 (0-12) Offaly LHC S-F 1st half: 6, 2nd half: 12
02 Sep 2007 Kilkenny (2-19) 2-10 : 0-08 (1-15) Limerick AIHC F 1st half: 8, 2nd half: -1
05 Aug 2007 Kilkenny (0-23) 0-11 : 0-06 (1-13) Wexford AIHC S-F 1st half: 5, 2nd half: 2
28 Jul 2007 Kilkenny (3-22) 0-13 : 1-09 (1-18) Galway AIHC Q-F 1st half: 1, 2nd half: 9
01 Jul 2007 Kilkenny (2-24) 2-11 : 0-06 (1-12) Wexford LHC F 1st half: 11, 2nd half: 4
10 Jun 2007 Kilkenny (1-27) 0-14 : 1-10 (1-13) Offaly LHC S-F 1st half: 1, 2nd half: 13
03 Sep 2006 Kilkenny (1-16) 1-08 : 0-08 (1-13) Cork AIHC F 1st half: 3, 2nd half: 0
13 Aug 2006 Kilkenny (2-21) 1-10 : 1-10 (1-16) Clare AIHC S-F 1st half: 0, 2nd half: 8
22 Jul 2006 Kilkenny (2-22) 2-13 : 0-06 (3-14) Galway AIHC Q-F 1st half: 13, 2nd half: -8
02 Jul 2006 Kilkenny (1-23) 1-09 : 0-04 (2-12) Wexford LHC F 1st half: 8, 2nd half: 0
10 Jun 2006 Kilkenny (1-23) 1-15 : 1-04 (1-09) Westmeath LHC S-F 1st half: 11, 2nd half: 3

And the fascinating stat to emerge is that, in their 21 match unbeaten run to date, the Cats have never gone in for their half time shower behind in a match. One match was a draw at half time - the 2006 semi-final v Clare. Well done the Banner. The Cats half-time leads have ranged from a single point (twice in 2007 - the Leinster semi v Offaly and the All-Ireland quarter-final v Galway) to 17 points v Waterford in the 2008 final.

As for the second half, Kilkenny have only lost 4 second halves - the 2006 quarter-final v Galway by 8 points, the 2007 final v Limerick by one point, the 2009 semi-final v Waterford by 1 point and last Sunday’s semi-final by 1 point also. Interestingly two of those losing second halves did not feature Henry Shefflin. Whoever faces Kilkenny on September 5 might see some glimmer of hope in that particular stat.

You were training at 4.06?

Numbers good at that time?

Your one hell of a bluffer, and you still don’t get the real meaning of irony, despite googling it, and posting it up here.

Mankind hasn’t perfected transportation technology unfortunately, so travel from Dublin to Laois still isn’t instantaneous. Until it is, I’ll stick with the car and hope for the best.

What an wanker.

Its what ‘a’ wanker not what ‘an’ wanker. You shouldn’t lash out just because you are corrected, view it as a learning exercise and grow from it. If you’re curious also as to why I left that early it was because I wanted to call in to see how the mam was and then popped out to see how the auld lad was getting on harvesting the wheat before I went training. If there’s anything else you’d like to know such as how its yielding feel free to ask.

 More of the ain’t i a great country boy working in the city shite.

No need to explain mbb, we all know your full of shit.

Don’t say I didn’t offer anyway. Just trying to educate. Are you done now, can we let the thread back on topic? Feel free to pm any further correspondence re this subject.
