Official All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final 2009 Thread: KK vs Tipp

Has Locke been on telling why Tipp have it in the bag yet?

Locke is whipped - he’s never on any more.

That’s the first time I’ve ever seen the GAA issue a statement to say the final is a sell out. Well duh, the final should be a sellout shouldn’t it?

They’ll be giving tickets away outside the ground as they always do for hurling finals.

The biggest sellout is this presentation in the middle of the pitch bullshit. It looks fucking terrible.

:rolleyes::clap::clap:

The year Limerick were in the final, 2007, I was never offered as many tickets in my life for a match. Thousands of them going around. Won’t be as much this time but you’ll get a ticket or two if you want as always.

Are the teams being named tonight?

Kilkennys wont be named until Tomorrow night at the very earliest, dont know about Tipperary, there could be a surprise or two in the Kilkenny line up,id reckon Cha Fitzpatrick wont start he hasnt been going that well in training and Cody might see that coming on as a sub when hes fresher than everyone else might be more beneficial,im half expecting Richie Hogan(hes on fire at training) to start for Richie Power whos always done his best Croke Park work for Kilkenny when coming off the bench. These Tipp lads will be shit nervous on Sunday, only Brendan Cummins knows anything about it.Tipp are cunts.

Will Hickey be fit and if he is will he start…Wouldn’t be surprised if Cha didn’t start, Michael Rice has had a very good year…

Link, what is the opinion of TJ Reid in Kilkenny, he certainly seems to have plenty ability but does he have enough of a cut about him for senior intercounty hurling

Corbett and Kelly have AI medals don’t forget that, although im glad that the great Eoin kelly is finally moving ahead of Donie Ryan in AI final appearances.
Its a pity he wasnt born in Cork or KK where his talent would have been given a greater opportunity to flourish. Ditto Declan brown.

No fan of Tipp, but it wouldn’t hurt the competition to see a changing of the guard. The hurling championship has been a drab spectacle this year.

Its not the same without Locke’s preview…

I can give you his prediction second hand from PV.
Tipp 5-23
KK 0-12

I stand by my prediction on the “Cody Out” thread
Locke has foresaken us for PV…

Oh calm down you website monogomist.
One of my favourite hurlers ever Noel Hickey wont be involved in this AI Final id reckon,he looks a fair bit off the pace at training and hasnt that burst of old,id love to be wrong but i cant see it happening for him.

In the Kilkenny managements mindset Hogan is too small to start for Comerford(who usually operates on the half line these days) id reckon,TJ Ried(hasnt been going great) usually comes on for COmerford but id reckon Comerfords size and agility will keep him on for this final.Cmon the cats be fucked…
Jesus Link, is anyone going well in training in Kilkenny?

Can you give us his log in details for PV as well?

He’s lost the run of himself clearly, if he’s only predicting a 26 point Tipp win, I would have thought Locke would go with 27 points at least…

Sorry Mac, been up the walls with work. Went to go on last night but the cunts in Eircom had other ideas…

I’m worried lads…

50:50 game at best - with Tipp the real favorites, and I’ll tell you why…

 1. Only hype from the past few years has KK favorites, not anything that they have done this year. I have noted that Paddy Power has now shortened his odds to 1/2 and 2/1 with a three points difference in the game which is nothing in hurling, they are basically saying anyone can win it.

 2. Hickey won’t play, Brian Hogan is not back to full fitness and will play centre back, he is the second best full back (his club position) but as he’s not back sharp they don’t want to chance him at full back where if he makes a mistake Tipp scores goals. JJ is no full back and everyone knows it, waterford would not have got those goals if Hogan or Hickey were back there. Tennyson is not (pacy enough for wing back and although he catches a lot of ball, his man gets a lot of ball aswell). With Hickey gone the strongest formation for these players is Hogan full back, Tennyson centre back and JJ wing back, however they will not line-out this way and instead will line-out as per the semi final game.

 3. Four very good midfielders - Cha, Lyng, Rice and Fennelly, yet only one of them, Rice, is fit and in-form. Cha and Fennelly have not recovered from the viral mumps…and this has been well noted by there poor play all year, Lyng is only half fit and has only 30/40 minutes in him…as can be seen by the substitutions all year. Then its down to Rice who really is new to playing on this team and has not gained the experence to be commanding in this position yet. Midfield is a worry for KK. We carried the poor backs and midfielders displays before against Galway and waterford - Tipp are just too good to be able to get away with it this time.

 4. Tipp are flying it and since their game with KK in the league Final have improved substantially, where it could not be said that KK have done the same. With that said, KK have experience but they are not the team people think they are and tiredness is setting in this year as can be seen from how they struggled against sides not at their best. Waterford ran them close as did Galway. Tipp should have beaten them in the league final. This is a 50:50 game at best, remember this is KK’s fourth All-Ireland Final in a row without many changes to the starting 15 for all that four…maybe one !

No this is Tipp’s to lose. If KK can get some hunger back they will have a very good chance but the tide is turning and I think it will be this Sunday…
