Official KIB V St Galls All Ireland Club Final Thread

I believe that Kib are widely available at 3/1 for this match. if the article below is correct that would be unbelieveable value.

St Gall’s CJ McGourty has emerged as a major doubt for their All-Ireland club football final showdown with Kilmurry-Ibrickane on St Patrick’s Day.

While it is not clear what kind of injury the forward has sustained, he had surgery on a debilitating hip problem last year and it’s understood that the same injury has resurfaced in recent months.

McGourty, who scored 1-9 in the All-Ireland semi-final win over Corofin, recently revealed that he had taken several pain-killing injections to get through games because of pain in his hip and that doctors had advised him to take an extended break from the game.

Fellow attacker Rory Gallagher picked up a hamstring injury in the win over Corofin, but is expected to be fit for the Croke Park decider.

[/quote]Keep in mind that KIB will be up against 15 as opposed 14 players in this game, also Galls wont have the arrogance which the Laois crowd had.

agreed, however despite many pundits ascertation Kib are more than capable of producing a similar and better performance than the semi final.

Savage odds for a team with the heart, skill ands spirit of KIB, i’ll be having a little bit of that.

What’s the handicap betting?

Bet of the year material imo, Galls did their best to lose the SF but Corofin just wouldn’t let them. A Final would hold serious choking potential for the Belfast club. Its actually set up quite nicely for the KIBs, its just a matter of whether they have what it takes. I reckon they do,too.

kilmurray +3 11/10

or

where i will be kilmurray by 1-3 @ 11/2

Thats the bet.

Oh indeed

Will have a bit of that myself.

As ever, I’ll strongly be supporting the team from the eastern half of the country. 'Mon St. Gall’s - the people who kept the games going in the Occupied Six deserve all the success that comes their way.

you were supporting portlaois in the semi?

Yes. They were my province’s representative.

Having watched the entire St Galls v Corofin game on the box there on a recent SAaturday night id reckon that if they dont have CJ McGourty KIB are in with a good shout, hes a decent player and they kick everything to him,he’ll surely be okay on the day probably just the Northerners pulling a cute one,ill have a small go at KIB by 1-3 at those odds, anyone got an idea what St Galls by 4-6 points might be?

Shtep back from the Veh Hickle Link-this is football here.

I wouldnt often subject mesef to a full game of it but after watching the entire St Galls Semi final and ten minutes of the highlights of the KIB semi im going for St Galls by 4-6 points,CJ McGourty will probably be fine.

Football is shite.

Club football is class at times, when 2 teams really go for it. Often because they don’t know each other well and concentrate on themselves the provincial and All-Ireland club games can be crackers. Obviously these 2 will have homework done for the final, so unfortunately this may be a dull one. Both teams though have shown they can play nice football this year and in the past, so here’s hoping.

Bookies havent a clue how to price GAA games. If it were Portlaoise or Kerins o Rahillys in the final what price would they be? Portlaoise would probably be favourites. KIB hammered Portlaoise and should be favourites if anything for this game.

Was at Croke Park a few years ago where if St. Galls had shown an ounce of self belief they would have beaten Salthill on the day. They choked it big style and Michael Donnellan on one leg got Salthill through.

Whether St. Galls have learned from that or not I dont know. Croke Park suits forwards generally but the KIB defence has been excellent all year. They defend as a unit and as a result I wouldnt fear CJ McGourty or the Gallaghers. Midfield I would worry about KIB all right. The lads there will win a share of ball but could lack pace around Croke Park. The forwards provided they settle early should put up a decent score. More experienced lads than KIB have flopped on the big day in Croke Park but I think they will be fine. I think St. Galls will be every bit as nervous and maybe even more so. Would be a huge boost for GAA in Belfast and hopefully that will be a distraction for them. All in all at 3/1, KIB are absolute banker material.

Skocking for such a club man like KIB to fuck off travelling shortly before the biggest day in the clubs history.

I’d have my doubts on that…
