Yellows. Sneaky belt on Kellyâs elbow by saint tommy. Kelly let the ball off and then went timberin walsh. Dan on for kelly, TJ Reid for Walsh.
Serious bit of cuttin about Waterford today. Fair fucks to Fitzy, theyâre bearing the look of a Davy Fitzgerald team already.
doubtless the CCC wonât be looking at st tommyâs antics either, fair play to kelly for giving him a bit of aversion therapy
Good to see him come out the other week and say he is looking to blood new lads and try the likes of Brick Walsh at centre backâŚAs the likes of Dan, Tony Browne and Ken McGrath (and Davy himself) wonât be round foreverâŚ
Limerick and Dublin are level at half time 0-06 a pieceâŚGalway are hammering 2-11 to 0-05âŚ
Serious improvement in the way the Waterford boys are taking the ball in the contact compared to last year. Noticed it with Molumphy in the fitzgibbon this week as well. Some contrast with last year.
Declan Prendergast gone for 6 months if that was as bad as it looked. Not sure about Brennan though, seemed harsh.
Could be a blessing in disguise for Waterford:D
Dan has a goal got and Kilkenny have none.
Update - Kilkenny have one.
They do now, cracking goal.
Dans on fire
Great win for Waterford. Fully deserved. Unreal the level of aggression they had today, the amount of bodies they piled into every tussle for the ball on the ground. Theyâve got the Davy Fitz stamp on them now and no mistake.
what was Brennan sent off for? Clear as day Prendergast struck him across the head with the hurl, but what did Brennan do to deserve it?
Scrappy enough game I thought, and didnt think the ref coped too well with it. Not sure about getting hyped on the reult by Waterford, a step in the right direction I suppose, but wouldnt have been impressed by them.
Last I heard too, Carlow were beating Laois in Div 2 game.

I stupidly decided to put 1600 v cash on Laois to win at 1/8âŚhope they pulled it out of the fire
Thanks be to fuck Laois won 3-12 to 2-11 according to AertelâŚGalway hammered Cork 4-16 to 1-11, limerick beat the Dubs by 2 points 1-11 to 0-12 points

Laois pulled it out of the fire against Carlow. Won by four. Brennan hit him a slap of the hurl first I think but hard to tell from the tg4 replays.
Found it an enjoyable game to be honest, plenty of bite about it for a league game. Huge game psychologically for waterford, had to go toe to toe with Kilkenny today and they did it. First rule of beating Kilkenny is match them physically, and considering the type of game they were coming from Waterford have made huge strides in that regard. Will really reinforce the type of changes Fitzyâs trying to make to how they play. Some league games matter. Today mattered big time for Waterford.
Missed a trick big time with Down. Put in a big performance against Antrim last week and were way overpriced at 4/1. Nothing else tempted me this week. Lotteries all over the place.

thats the thing tho. Did it matter for KK? Waterford have an awful awful tendancy to get worked up over wins that in the reality of things, arent as big as they want them to be. Last year they were going mental at the fact that they won the AI semi final. They were going on about the League win the year before. They get worked up over games far too early. Just hope this isnt another one.
I see where youâre coming from and its only the league. The thing for me is that the terms Waterford won todays game on were different. Hard physical battle with cards flying and they held their nerve and came out on top. Kilkenny wonât give a fuck at all really, except for the fact thereâs always serious competition for places there, and the boys who play on a losing team are remembered for it.
Kilkenny wonât lose to much sleep over today but if Waterford had shipped another heavy beating from Kilkenny then it could well have been the beginning of the end for their seasonâŚWaterford still have the likes of Mullane, Browne, Eoin McGrath(out for another few months) and a few more of the De La Salle lads to come back in and I wouldnât be too quick about writing them offâŚ
Prendergast will get 3 months at the minimum for that belt, stupid to give a lad a belt across the head, guarenteed red card, if he had given it to him across the ribs/arse/thigh he might only have been yellowed
