I donât know what it is about the city end of the Gaelic Grounds this season but opposition keepers seem to be gifting limeick goals at that endâŚPhilly Brennan gifted Limerick a couple a few weeks ago and the Dublin keeper did the same today, very soft goal for Niall MoranâŚ
Think its more the goalkeepers than the ends puke. The words Dublin, goalkeeper, and disaster tend to follow each other.
Gwan ta fook Cian ya man ya!!!
Kilkenny wonât lose to much sleep over today but if Waterford had shipped another heavy beating from Kilkenny then it could well have been the beginning of the end for their seasonâŚWaterford still have the likes of Mullane, Browne, Eoin McGrath(out for another few months) and a few more of the De La Salle lads to come back in and I wouldnât be too quick about writing them offâŚ
Prendergast will get 3 months at the minimum for that belt, stupid to give a lad a belt across the head, guarenteed red card, if he had given it to him across the ribs/arse/thigh he might only have been yellowed
thats a fair enough point alright. altho its rare enough KK give hidings to teams in the league other than Wexford, they generally only get wins by a few scores and never pummel a team like the final last year. I dont think Waterford have a whole lot to add to their squad tho. Mullane definitely, Browne is well past his best IMO, and is nearly a liability at times now, and I dont really rate McGrath to be honest. runs around a lot, and can do well, but I think Waterford would be better served finding better players to play in the corner than him. Dont think DLS have a whole lot to add either. Dan is far from his POTY form too, last year was evidence enough of that, and he doesnt seem to be any better this year.
Yeah I would agree that none of them apart from Mullane are top class but they will add a bit more experience and depth to the panel all the sameâŚThe more competition for places the better would be the way davy would look at itâŚI would rate Kevin Moran of De La Salle fairly highly all the sameâŚ
Puke what are Clare at this year? Theyâll be relegated from the league the way theyâre going.
That is out and out thuggery from Prendergast, how can anyone possibly justify that?
How will they DunphâŚOnly one team gets relegated and Cork are as good as downâŚLot of mitigating circumstances, gifting limerick 3 goals, training hard for 2 hours the day before the Waterford game and not taking their chances today(see the clare thread)âŚWe were a lot worse off this time last year, absolutely hammered by Waterford and Limerick, beaten by galway and luckily got a draw against tippâŚ
Still early daysâŚVery hard to guess what Mike is trying to doâŚCathal Dillon has been given a go at full back and Conor MacMahon(brother of diarmuid) in the corner, Colin Ryan in the forwards and Enda Barrett was given a start at midfield today and seemed to be going alright bit was taken off before half timeâŚHe continually picks Alan Markham full forward despite not being suited to itâŚ
Clare have a 37 man panel at the moment but barring an epidemic sweeping through the camp the likes of the O Donovan twins, Ger Arthur, Eamonn Glynn, Donal Touhy, Conor Hassett, Nickey O Connell and Gary O Connell will get little or no game time which is a small bit disappointing
Disappointed with things a bit myself but reckon we will be right come the third week in June and that is what countsâŚ
Crazy stuff alright, MaCmennamin got rightly crucified for what he did against Kerry, but at least it wasnât smacking some lad in the face with a hurl. Should be a hefty ban coming up
You would think so - worth keeping an eye on anyway. It seems like the league is being used to settle some scores, as if players think they can get away with stuff in the league that they wouldnât get away with in the championship.
Puke,
I didnât realise only one team goes down, if thatâs the case then Clare are fine. I know you wonât win anything in February and March but nevertheless Clare havenât impressed me thus far. Itâs good and well saying âweâll be fine in Juneâ but you canât just turn on and off form like a tap.
I know where you are coming from but I cannot remember one team that Mike Mac has been involved with that wasnât right come the ChampionshipâŚClare 1995-1999, Galway 2001, Offaly 2004, Clare last year, not to mention running both Tipp and Cork close in 2005 and 2006 very close in the Under 21 championshipâŚ
I hope your right because i have great time for Clare hurling. A Limerick v Clare Munster final this year is what iâm hoping for.
Aversion therapy. If the fucking tit had any sense he would have kept his aversion therapy to himself and would have stayed on the field for a bit longer. It was a wild pull by Tommy for which he probably should have got a yellow for it but the ref missed it. The Waterford backs were wearing the hurleys off Richie Power in the same fashion as he ran through on goal early in the first half but you didnât see give any aversion therapy there.
Dirty stroke by Prendergast also but that doesnât surprise me after his antics before the final last year. I didnât see what Brennan was sent off for.
Good win for Waterford all the same. Some very good individual performances from the brick, murphy, mcgrath and molumphy. McGrath is a great ball winner in the forwards but he needs to improve his shooting
Boys on Sunday Sports said Fast Eddie done nothing, looked that way to me too.
Saying that, cant imagine why a lad, no matter how filthy he is, might slap hurl into someones face with no provocation.

He had no problem trying to kick lumps out of Richie Power without provocation before last years final

Eddie was given a red after the Ref consulted with the umpires but nothing deserved a pull across the head. Didnât think the Tommy Walsh thing was that bad-a bit reckless and deserved of a yellow with the new rules, but nothing close to what he did to Gizzy.
waterford were always going to come out flailing ash this time, and thats what you have to do to beat kk, play them at their own game.
regardless kk will beat them out the gate next time they meet, likkle tommy, hickey and co will have the hurls sharpened and the refs will turn a blind eye and away they will go, 4 in a row.
the only thing to stop kk this year will be the refs
That was a fairly shit result v Antrim Yesterday.
