Caoimhaoin, is that Noel O’Donovan at full back for Cork from Bishopstown?
He is indeed. Should have got his go long go. Never really built himself up though, and was badly treated by Billy. Very quick, good on the ball and a good distributor. Football wise he is years ahead of Kavanagh, but Kavanagh is strong.
Ya, I was wondering. I played a bit of soccer with him under age and I thought he would have been a bit old to be only making his break through now.
Just watching highlights here, cant believe Whelan died, shocking stuff.
Great game in Croker last night. Good to have the GAA back again thank God.
Thats mad, i played soccer with him before christmas.
Bit late coming through alright.
Clare had a good win in Carlow today winning 12 points to 10…They are missing a lot of lads through injury, emigration and apathy towards the county team…hopefully they can pick up another few wins as they have a lot of young lads on the team, a few that could well be on the hurling panel in a few years also…
Thought it was the standout result of the weekend to be honest Pukey.
Was surprised myself, the Clare manager frank doherty said the other week that there were the bones of 30 lads unavailable to him…They had 5 debutants starting today, 4 of them in the backs…Hopefully they can put a bit of form together now…Liam Markham and Sean Collins both from Cratloe are serious young fellas who love their football…Collins was called onto the Clare senior hurling panel last month but turned it down, while Markham picked the minor footballer over the hurlers last year…Kevin Dilleen was centre back for them, he played hurling for Clare in 2007, got roasted by Shaughnessy above in croke park…
Sometimes (and a good coach) that can can galvanise a team. A kinda fuck the rest of them fuckers anyway, we’ll belt away. Of course that can only bring you so far. Good talent in Clare at the moment, hurling and football.
Yeah no coincedence that they finally got off their arses a few years ago and started putting decent undeage structures in place, starting to see some decent prospects coming through…Our minors and 21s won’t be too far away from munster titles in the hurling his year IMO…
Ya, was talking to a guy involved with Cork MInor hurlers, he expects 4 teams in Munster to be excellent. Cork, Tipp, Clare and Waterford. Cork should have a really really good football team, but management are poor. Kerry will be very very strong this year. 4 excellent schools teams down there.
Good win alright but I think in the Kerry alco’s time they won in Carlow in the first game aswell.
Frank Doherty is a mercenary of the highest order and has touted himself for every inter county job going over the last few years. A fine coach no doubt but I’d prefer if James Hanrahan was in charge.
KIB being a mountainy man from West Clare, where exactly is Coolmeen?..Would know little or nothing about the place, presume they are intermediate?
I can safely say I have never been in the place. Never played against them at any level underage. I think they are junior actually. Just googled it there and its near Kiladysart. I thought they played with Shannon Gaels but I could be wrong.
I could have sworn Shannon Gaels were in Kerry.
There could well be a Shannon Gaels in Kerry Kev…Same way there are loads of Eire Og gaa clubs around the country…
Good point. I’m loosening up for superbowl, so i’m not thinking 100%
what about paul o connor puke is he playin for clare this year know him well from new york, fine footballer, sound lad also
My knowlwdge of Clare football would be poor enough massey but i will look into it for you
coolmeen are a junior club in south clare nextwith no serious prospects of promotion to intermediate.
